Long time actor Alan Arkin has passed at 89. One of my faves of all time.
He had a weird accent/way of speaking for that villain role, but it worked. He was fantastic. The first thing I ever saw him in was Wait Until Dark. It's still a great movie.
I didn't know this was him. ExcellentI'll discount Argo, American propaganda.
His accent for Wait Until Dark was a knockoff from his breakthrough role as LT Rozanov in The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming. the films were made consecutively.
Adam Arkin has a prominent role as a restaurateur in the GOAT's masterpiece PIG. He's exceptional in the film, but it's not for everyone.Likeable guy. RIP. also liked his son Adam Arkin who disappeared from the limelight a long time ago.
Agreed! , but I mostly watch it for Sondra Locke, she was nominated for a supporting Oscar, what a young cutie she was.Any discussion about Alan Arkin is incomplete without mention of his brilliant performance in Heart of a Lonely Hunter. One of the most affecting films and performances that I’ve ever seen.
Heard of the title for years. Just read the synopsis. Sounds like the most depressing movie ever made.Agreed! , but I mostly watch it for Sondra Locke, she was nominated for a supporting Oscar, what a young cutie she was.
