Well, they had an easy death, that's for sure. An implosion kills instantly.

Not to be gross but there may not be much left of the bodies. Condolences to their families and friends. So sad.

This was not supposed to happen as the shell was designed by NASA
and built by the best and returning to surface was considered fail safe

The mickey mouse stuff on the sub was considered to be non essential
for safety

Deep sea sub engineering needs to know why

Supposedly, communications was lost 1.5 hr into a 2.5 hr descent. Implosion happened early.

Confirmed by the U.S. Cost Guard at 3pm today. 7 pieces of large Titan debris found 1,600 feet from the Titanic. Next of kin to be officially notified.

Agree it must have happened at the moment they lost communication on Sunday. Which is at least a bit of relief, as being trapped since Sunday in that tiny space for 4+ days praying for a miracle would have driven me insane...

May have not been banging at all, maybe just noises from the ocean.

I can't believed they risked their lives and trusted the guy. Everything seemed so sketchy, the sub wasn't even certified. Being claustrophobic and risk averse, there's no way I would ever get into the sub.

Just as I suspected in my first post. Probably the window or the frame let go or a weld on a hatch. They suppose to xray them after each dive to check the integrity as the whole vessel flexes under the stress. An ocean is a dangerous place. In any case, they need to fish it out to recover the bodies and discover the reason for the accident.

Well then, sounds like it in fact went boom. Didn't even make it to the bottom before it happened. Shit happens.

I wonder if there was a camera recording the trip inside the vessel?
For sure they recorded every second of their time on the sub. The question is, can it be recovered?

"The submersible that went missing near the wreck of the Titanic with five people on board didn't fall under vessel safety rules because it operated in international waters.
OceanGate's vessel evaded regulations by being deployed in international waters, where Coast Guard rules don't apply.
The Titan didn't have to register with a country or follow rules that apply to many vessels because it was loaded onto a Canadian boat and dropped into international waters.
According to the CEO, "You know, there's a limit. You know, at some point, safety just is pure waste. I mean, if you just want to be safe, don't get out of bed," he said.
"Don't get in your car. Don't do anything. At some point, you're going to take some risk, and it really is a risk/reward question. I think I can do this just as safely by breaking the rules," Rush told the outlet."

This dick head Rush had to take innocents with him. Sadly

It's in pieces. I doubt there are any intact bodies to recover. Fish food...

Per CNN:

There are only 10 of these subs in the world that can reach depths where Titanic is, and 9 of those 10 are certified.
This sub was never certified. The other 9 subs have a perfect safety record over the last few decades
