Supposedly, communications was lost 1.5 hr into a 2.5 hr descent. Implosion happened early.

Confirmed by the U.S. Cost Guard at 3pm today. 7 pieces of large Titan debris found 1,600 feet from the Titanic. Next of kin to be officially notified.
Agree it must have happened at the moment they lost communication on Sunday. Which is at least a bit of relief, as being trapped since Sunday in that tiny space for 4+ days praying for a miracle would have driven me insane...

May have not been banging at all, maybe just noises from the ocean.
I can't believed they risked their lives and trusted the guy. Everything seemed so sketchy, the sub wasn't even certified. Being claustrophobic and risk averse, there's no way I would ever get into the sub.

Just as I suspected in my first post. Probably the window or the frame let go or a weld on a hatch. They suppose to xray them after each dive to check the integrity as the whole vessel flexes under the stress. An ocean is a dangerous place. In any case, they need to fish it out to recover the bodies and discover the reason for the accident.
For sure they recorded every second of their time on the sub. The question is, can it be recovered?
