Bruins and Panthers to game 7.

IF Bruins lose, will the talking heads stopping comparing the Bruins to the great 1976-77 Habs?
The majority of the sports news sites I have read acknowledge that the "points" record is not a true comparison.

I am hoping the Bruins will lose as it may create an easier path for the Leafs to get to the 3rd round.

That's good to hear. The 1977 Habs had 9 (or is it 10?) HOF'ers.

The Panthers look good too. There is no easier path. Let's see what the Leafs do in game 6 to-night.

Unbelievable!
The Oiler goalie fanned attempting a pass and Danault (who used to shadow Matthews) scored shorthanded to tie the game at 4.
Skinner said In the post-game interview his goalie stick was actually broken.

P.S. Hyman and the Oilers move on to round 2.

Congrats to the Oilers they had to beat an impressive Kings squad. Their PP is lethal. 40% is ungodly.
The Rangers came through to force a game 7. I'm surprised they have had such difficulty after going up 2-0 in the series.
Go Panthers!

The Bruins are out.

The GM should get fired because he built a team that was great in the regular season but was not built for playoff hockey. Not enough grit or determination.

To be fair, and if you use the Leafs’ standard of incompetence, you have to give him 4 more seasons to get bounced in the first round before he gets fired.

I think I saw somewhere his stick was badly cracked and chose exactly that moment to snap when he went to pass the puck up to his teammate. Talk about bad luck and bad timing!

I agree with your second point - in the end FLA outworked the Bruins, plain and simple.

It makes you wonder, what was the point of Boston winning 65 regular season games this year, only to go out in the first round, of the playoffs.

Maybe the Bruins won't fire him because they got "more respect in the handshake line" on their way to the golf course and that'll be a good enough reason for the board of directors to keep him around?

Sounds like the Rick Bowness school of thought.

Are you thinking maybe the division leader should get a bye? This would make the regular season more meaningful.

Maybe the talking heads will now stop comparing the Bruins to the 1977 Habs.

To me the nhl‘s first round playoffs are the most exciting (except the World Cup soccer) and interesting among all team sports. It would be a big upset if there is no upset of the higher seated teams. You don’t see the same kind of phenomenon in other team sports. Boston is not the first and won’t be the last President’s trophy winner to get bounced in the first round.

Colorado just got knocked out too. When was the last time both defending champion and President’s trophy winner get bounced in the first round ?

No such thing as an easier path. We thought the Leafs would get by The Habs in 2021 and breeze though the CAnadian division.
