The female singer ruined the anthems by attempting to drown out the male, screeching is brutta figura for the National Anthems.

The Crime Dog throwing out the first pitch with Vlady asking for his autograph was precious. Jays Nona in the house...all is well with the world.

Kevin Kiermaier has totally grown on me. He is such a pleasure to watch, and he's so happy all the time. Total positive vibes good energy going on.

I mean this season, it's fantastic to watch Chapman and his final value setting year for his free agency. I really hope he has a great year. And that could very well set this team over the top. But what the hell are they going to do for next year when Chapman is not signed for his asking price of 30 million a year?
Chapman is off to a great start and I hope he has a career year. While it's not the norm, some hitters are late bloomers...Jose Bautista never really got going offensively until her was 30...Mark Chapman is 30.

While I think assassinating Ross Atkins for the Hernandez trade might be a little much :ROFLMAO: I didn't like it either.

Go Jays Go.

He's George Springer
The other George Springer (Rudy Gobert) should be more like George Springer. Got his ass suspended, and the Timberwolves bounced from the playoffs, for being a meathead. He also got deservedly roasted by Chuck.

And I still think Ross Atkins should be assassinated for trading Hernandez. Lol I don't think I will ever let that go.

But what the hell are they going to do for next year when Chapman is not signed for his asking price of 30 million a year? That's where the mishandling of the Hernandez situation is going to come into effect in my mind. He's the lineup piece that could easily have filled in the void of Chapman leaving. Or even possibly Bichette leaving in three years for that matter. I feel Hernandez had so much value from so many sides of the coin.

.....but on the other hand, who really knows what was attempted. Maybe they did try to extend him.

Philip
I think their plan would be to see how Addison Barger progresses at the AAA level, if it goes well he will be tabbed to be 3B next year. Then they could use the savings for an extension for Vlad Jr.

Defense wins games and possibly a trip to the Fall Classic, I wouldn't be so quick to move out Chapman.

I love it when Guillermo's son Alejandro hits a home run and, even with wider bases, he's still a master put out artists.

Alejandro in all his glory in 2022.

His dad has a good gig.

Hernandez was our best hitter bar none when healthy, but he will be FA next year and that was why they traded him
plus he was a defence liability , so I like the trade

Moreno trade was horrible as he is a future star. I would have traded Kirk as he was the starter all star catcher so his value was high.

Jansen does not have the same trade value as those two but Jansen’s power surge late in season is real as he
decided to become the pull hitter he is, not everyone can spray the field like Bochette can, and Jansen has
the experience and ability to manage pitchers to replace Kirk with Moreno as back up still learning his way into the show.

Tuned in to the game and caught the bottom of the 9th. Great comeback win and manufacturing those tying runs in the 9th was fun to watch. The bunt by Kiermaier set the tone for the tenth. Kiermairer is a true team leader and is perhaps one of the more important pieces to the team. They needed to find someone who is here to win and motivate the team. Great signing.

I strongly disagree, Captain Kirk is younger than BoboFette. Gabriel Moreno has potential but I seriously doubt he'll get to Alejandro's level of defensive excellence. The best defensive catcher I ever saw was Rick Dempsey of the Orioles...I still remember what he did to the Jays in 1983, Alejandro is almost at his level.

Didn't know Matt Chapman is a FA after this season.

My biggest concern has always been, what the hell are they going to do when Chapman walks for free agency? And also the fact that Hernandez was a good fit for the lineup, I figured him to be affordable, another late bloomer like you're saying, and really looked comfortable in Toronto. assuming he wouldn't have been that hard to extend, but then again who really knows what goes on behind closed doors .....maybe they tried.

He also looked like quite the throwback in my mind to that strong Dominican Blue Jay heritage. I'm such a fan of that.

I would rather see Pearson in Swansons roll.

I understand this. I'm just saying, Hernández would've provided depth and stability in that lineup as Barger (Jose Canseco jr) develops.

I've been talking about the Hernandez trade for months. I'm even driving my father nuts with this. Lol.

I have to agree with you there. Kirk was a 4 win player last year, and only a year older than Moreno...

Sure, maybe Moreno has a better overall career when its all said and done but for the short term, Im happy we kept Kirk.

About as good as that other aging Jays castoff, Josh Donaldson looked.
The two greatest Yankees were both degenerate party animals: Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle. Both passed on from their favorite vice before their time.

Charlie Montoyo was fired for being too soft on The Three Amigos (Vlady, Teoscar, Lourdes), he tried the grandfatherly approach to their partying ways and failed. Schneider came in and started levying fines whenever they missed curfew. Upper Management decided they were detrimental to the long term fortunes of the club and broke them up.

Ruth loved cigars as much as Mantle loved his 'breakfast of Champions". Mantle's morning drink consisted of Brandy, Kahlua and Cream. Ruth apart from smoking cigars constantly used to pig out on hot dogs. He could down a dozen of them washed down with cola, rip several thunderous belches and be ready to play. This is what he may have sounded like.

Chapman is going to look dapper in pinstripes....
Or Dodger blue. After a 30 year old Machado opted out and reset his deal with the Padres for 11 years @ 350 million, with the 2023/2024 free agency third baseman availability......does that make Chapman an automatic $30 million man?

Truly terrifying.

Yeah Muncy has a team option for 10 mil next year then is a unrestricted free agent after that. So Chapman would be a logical move for them. He's a Californian as well by birth and of course used to play in Oakland. So you would think there would be a comfortability there or him.

Yankees could move him right in at third at the end of this when Donaldson's contract expires. They're already paying JD 25 mil a season so they wouldn't have to adjust their payroll much. NY has a lot of middle infielders coming but not much at third. So they're going to have to go outside of the organization next year.

It's going to be a high price tag wherever he goes.

Or maybe he will just go to the Twins for a four year deal worth 120 million. Lol.
