But, but Trumpty Dumpty defends Putin, even though Biden was brave enough to put his life on the line with visiting Ukraine during this latest Russian aggression:

Trump would allow Putin to take Ukraine and all of Europe. Putin would crown Trump king of USA. There are peeps on this board who love to bow to kings.

IMHO, I totally agree that if Trump was still President, that his personal relationship with Putin, would have prevented the invasion of Ukraine. It seems that Biden is always a "day late, and a dollar short."

The logistics problems in Ukraine....

The 2 seasons between summer and winter ... are basically mud season. Moving around off road on foot or by tank is next to impossible. Making matters worse, this winter is unseasonably warm, which extended mud season.

So instead of moving in, Russia is biding it's time trying to take out as much infrastructure as possible with missiles.

Once summer comes, the war will move to another phase. Russia (if history is a lesson) will simply throw as many bodies as possible at the targets. The troops that can move the fastest will win.

Russia has a demographic problem. There boomers aged, and they don't have enough young people in their 20's. They are drafting up to 50 yrs old now.

Of course it would have. Just the way Chamberlain's "relationship" with Hitler prevented the invasion of Czechoslovakia...

It isn't entirely crazy.
Trump would have been pressuring Ukraine to accept Russian control of the government, replace Zelensky with someone more proRussia, etc.
He likely would have interfered with any attempts at economic or political outreach to the EU.

So Putin wouldn't have had to invade because he would have control without spending troops.

It is possible he would have failed anyway, and Putin would have gone forward with the invasion, but it wouldn't have been in 2022 even if that did happen.

The Minsk II agreement, which was guaranteed by UK and France and ratified by UN, would have prevented war, if implemented.

But it was a sham by UK and France.

No, Trump would just give Putin the green light to invade Ukraine and then take it over. A Putin puppet Leader would have then taken charge of Ukraine, and eventually the Donbas region would have been annexed by Russia. Trump does not know what the hell he is talking about, as he thinks he knows more than the Intel Agencies and "trusts" Putin over his own Intel Agencies. He is dumb as hell!! Biden on the other hand united NATO after Trump practically created the most dishevelled NATO on his watch. Putin expected to accomplish his mission within days, but a year on he looks all screwed up!!

We know that Russia was funneling money to Trump and that is why another one of his cronies is paying the price for it. Of course it is no big deal to all the alt right wingers:

Operative sentenced after funneling Russian money to Team Trump

The reason the Russians did it was they knew how to manipulate him and that is why they wanted him re-elected!!

IMHO, both Biden and Trump, have a lot of faults. In the 2020 election, Biden won approx 81 million votes. Trump won approx 74 million votes. Therefore approx 74 million US citizens wanted Trump to be president. That's no small number. I personally don't think Trump is dumb, at all. Trump is very charismatic, as a matter, of fact.

As far as Putin goes, Biden has been a disaster. IMHO, Trump couldn't have done any worse, as far, as handling Putin goes!!

No doubt Trump won a substantial number of votes. But record numbers turned out to ensure that Biden won the highest number of votes in any USA Elections. Trump maybe charismatic to his base. But to the majority of Americans, his 36,000+ documented lies, misstatements etc were there for all to see. Two outstanding ones that even 15 year old kids will be flabbergasted are:
1) If one injects a disinfectant vaccine, then it will go to the lungs to combat the Covid-19 Virus.

2) All about the US armies taking over the airports from the British during the 1775 Civil war.

So you refer to him as "charismatic" with such statements? The majority of the Americans on the other hand agree with Biden's support of the Ukraine in this war. He has handled it like a tough leader and will not tolerate Putin's nonsense. Again Trump would have been a disaster in this respect!!

Trump would just have stepped back and given the green signal for Putin to take over the Donbas region and to annex Donbas.
All Trump would have done is to then put some nothing burger sanctions against Russia, but still cozied to Putin.
Remember that this war was timed to be in 2022, due to two critical factors. One Russia was hosting the FIFA World Cup for Football in 2018, and secondly his ally China was hosting the Winter Olympics in early 2022. Once those games were over, was when Russia invaded Ukraine. That is why Putin wanted Trump back in power after the 2020 Elections!!

Yes, but look at all the lies Biden has told, as well. As I said upthread, if Trump was still the president, there wouldn't have been a Putin invasion of Ukraine, in the first place!!

In the interests of accuracy I don't think Trump actually said to inject a disinfectant vaccine. He seemed to muse aloud (as he is known to do) about the idea of such an idea. Not a suggestion to do so, but to investigate it. Having said that, indeed any 15 year old should know that ingesting disinfectants is poisonous.

"“I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute,” Trump said during Thursday’s coronavirus press briefing. “And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside, or almost a cleaning? Because you see it gets inside the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that.”

As for him being charismatic. Of course he seems that way to his vulnerable Marks who fall for his con job. Just like the con artist who swindles people out of their savings in various schemes that are designed specifically to appeal to those who are vulnerable to such tactics. That is Trump's true genius.

Ukraine? Trump?

That's a fucking laugh. As are his claims that Putin wouldn't attack if Trump were in office. Trump spins this tale in the (likely inadvertent) furtherance of Russia's true strength. That of simply sowing discord to weaken their enemies. Trump knows that he is Putin's cuck. HE KNOWS IT! In every meeting and word he speaks about Russia and Putin, he displays the most Beta Male/Simp body language, language and actions possible short of actually pleading for Vlad the Impaler NOT to impale Donnie's pasty white ass... in public.

But in fairness, Putin would not have had to invade Ukraine if Trump were President. Putin could have flown right into Kyiv, changed the locks on Zelenskyy's door at the same time he changed the signs to "KIEV". And Donnie would have then taken Putin's "talking points" and fed them throughout the Faux News and right wing apparchtik's Tweets.

And Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania would have been next, followed by the disintegration of NATO, the EU and the rules based world order. A second Trump Presidency could have had catastrophic worldwide effects. I don't know what, but Putin definitely has something on Trump. And much more serious than any real or imagined pee-pee tapes. Like laundering Russian money through the overpriced sales of the gaudy Trump condo developments that featured gold toilets and other gaudy shit that only vulger Russian tastes would like.

Whaddabout, whaddabout whaddabout...

One thing that you can truthfully say is that Donnie is perhaps the biggest, most outrageous and prolific liar the US has ever known. Do you believe Trumps lies Mitch? Or do you still admire and respect him despite his lies on matters of fact?

The only bigger liar is Putin, and Russian/Soviet culture.

Maybe that's why the right-wing extreme Republicans who love Trump also love Putin and Russia?

Sorry, I'm a huge Trump fan. I really hope Trump becomes President in 2024!! I think Biden lies just as much as Trump.

Trump isn't charismatic. Obama was. Not Trump.

Trump simply gives voice to and represents white identity politics, racism and other problematic beliefs that people usually just keep to themselves.

These sections of society are happy with Trump because his leadership atleast symbolically enables them and that delights them. That's all there is to it.
