Leafs just beat Winnipeg Jets 4:1.
Sam sonic had 37 saves. Mathews scored 2, Marner 1, Giodarno 1 on empty net.
NYlander has 44 goals so far this season. He needs one more goal to qualify for $10 million pay cheque next season.

CP
Small correction @chrispalen (y) - WN88 is on pace for 44 and if he gets to 45 - the 10 M payout will happen, currently he stands at 24 goals. I hope he gets it though - he is playing great.

The Leafs sadly lost to the Canadiens 3:2 tonite in OT. The team put up a good fight, but none of the $10 million monkeys scored anything. Giordano who makes about $1 million scored a goal and he is defence man. The $10 million monkeys should thank him big time so should Sheldon Keefe and Kyle Dubas. They should reflect on why those $10 million monkeys should be paid at all.

Those weren't the Montreal Canadiens... with all the injuries that was a slightly upgraded version of the Laval Rockets so let's hope the $10 million dollar monkeys never have to face Laval in a playoff series.

Those who wanted Nylander traded at his lowest value, trade him now at his highest value. But he won't be traded.

The Leafs beat the NY Islanders 5:2. NYlander scored 2 goals. He is now on $10 million payroll. Super great for him. He is worth every $ of it.

You think that they let JVR go to sign a $7 mil a year contract with Philly and then signed Nylander to $6.9...Dubas did well on that.

Some people couldn't understand the difference between a 1 year contract and a 6 year contract.
They were complaining as if Nylander signed a 1 year contract for 6.9 mill. It was a 6 year contract. Huge difference.
He signed when he was 22. 1 year for 6.9 mill at 22 would have been a bad contract in 2018 but that wasn't the contract he signed so it just baffled me why people were complaining. Especially 2018 was pre covid. The cap would have gone up much higher if not for covid so even with lower than expected cap increases Nylander's contract still looks good.

He is in the &10 million payroll now, after scoring 2 goals in the NY Islanders game. 1 more than the required 45. He deserves every $ of it. Well deserved.

The Leafs just beat NY Rangers 3:2 in OT. Marner scored the winning goal within minutes of beginning of OT.

The Leafs now have 4 players with 400 points or more. Tavares, Mathews, Marner and NYlander. I hope they can get into playoff.

Kerfoot almost cost them the game. That drop pass late in the 3rd period back to his own zone to no one was a head scratching moment.
This after Nylander set up the tying goal to set the table for overtime.
Who can forget Kerfoot's ill advised drop pass to no one in the playoffs vs TB last year as well.
He probably also cost them game 6 with a senseless penalty while killing a penalty with Leafs leading in the 3rd period.
