The French are saying Messi's third goal is not valid because as he was scoring it 2 Argentinian players were in the field cheering. Rules say the goal should've been annulled. But I guess the referee didn't see them.

Can someone tell me WHY THE FUCK so many subs are now allowed to be a part of the play!?!? In every tight game they'd be kicking the ball away on throw-ins or corners for the opposing team, helping to kill time, or in many cases getting the ball to their own player in a hurry effectively becoming part of the play. That's yellow / red card shit. And it happened constantly. In my soccer days you sat on the bench and if you got involved you got a card. Did something change?!

France could have won had they start to play before the 77th minute...

That save was amazing but Loris had just made on spectacular one on Messi a few minutes earlier.
I know but this one was a breakaway with no other defender than the goalie...

When a player plays an international game for his country against another country, why is it called a CAP?

What does CAP mean and/or stand for?

Pele won 3 World Cups. So for me Pele. Maradona. Messi. In that order
Pele never played in Europe amongst the top clubs so we will never know. He never won a Champions League. He was bullied into playing a 3rd WC and he delivered.

The Ballon d’Or only opened to non-European players in 1995. Maradona would have surely won it 2 or 3 times in conservative measure. He is the Gimli of Football.

CR7 has 5 Balon D'or and that says a lot. He has exceptional football skills. He couldn't deliver a WC to Portugal. I'm sure he would have loved to.

Messi has 7 Balon D'or. Who knew that was possible? With the WC win, it could possibly be 8. We'll have to wait and see.

Back in the day, when you were called up to your National team, you actually got a Hat (cap) to acknowledge your call up.
However, you actually had to be called to play by the coach, to step on the pitch to make it official. Just being called up and sitting on the bench watching didn't cut it.

In the modern era, the information of the game is actually printed on the jersey chest.

Thanks guys. That's actually a quaint answer to my query. Very old school.

Great to see soccer has now surpass all other main US sports. Worldwide it's more then 4 billions viewers!

In the US still crazy to think the last women's world cup final reached just over 26 millions. Soccer is still very much a women sport in the US.

So the polish referee finally gave it back to the French media and the 200 thousand people that wanted the finals repeated. He showed on his cell phone the picture of 7 French players that walked into the field when Mbappe scored. 😂😂😂

The referee of the World Cup final against France: "You gave me 2 on the report card for Messi's goal, but look at this photo. We have a full video here instead of the picture.

Half of the world was wondering what this POS was doing there. Turns out he's a friend of Gianni Infantino I think he is already banned from the US open after this stunt. He's a Turk , I don't know what he's celebrating there.

Qatar World Cup: FIFA admits restaurateur Salt Bae should not have been on the pitch after final

World football's governing body is investigating how the celebrity chef ended up on the pitch in Qatar, where he handled the trophy and was filmed hassling players who seemed baffled by his presence.

Just stop...it was a good match....down the line...at the end of the day...it wasn't Mbappe or Messi who won the match....
His Aston Villa manager was not impressed by his celebratory and mocking antics after the match:
