Now the Cowboys have clinched it only leaves a few teams vying for the last sports :

NYG : 8-5-1 @ MIN , vs IND, @ Philly - definitely not an easy road for the Giants, but the Eagles may sit their starters and have everything wrapped up by week 18.

WAS : 7-6-1 @SF, vs CLE, vs DAL : Like the Giants they are hoping that the week 18 match is a rest week for their opposition.

SEA : 7-7 @KC, vs NYJ, vs LAR : Seattle has a slightly easier schedule than NY and Washington, but its still hardly a cakewalk.

DET : 7-7 @CAR, VS CHI, @GB : Detroit has the most winnable schedule out of these 4 and will be favorites in every game. Detroit isone of the hottest teams in the NFL right now and the final
playoff spot is the Lions to lose.

Green Bay - a loss tonight will seal their fate but right now its still a possibility although a very low one.

NFC South : Not even going to get into it , but 1 game seperates 1st from last so anything can happen here but the only team that has a remote shot at wildcard is Tampa

Not even going to list all the AFC teams - there are only Houston Indy and Denver that are out of it.

I agree that Detroit looks good schedule wise and has been playing some good ball for the past month and a half. Even their loss to the Bills was a last minute drive. If they get in they could produce an upset.

At this time in the NFC I think it is SF and Philly. I'm leaning towards the 49'ers simply because of their defense.

Per the AFC it is a tossup between the Bills, Chiefs and Bengals. I am leaning towards the Bengals as they have rounded into form from their Superbowl run last year and are playing good football, despite that first half in TB yesterday.

I think the Seahawks and the Giants claim the remaining wildcards spots. The Lions are one of the hottest teams now, but that can't last and their awful 1 - 6 start will eventually doom them. I think the Lions will either lose at Carolina or at Green bay.

I live in Michigan and some Lions fans here are not only talking going to the playoffs, but winning playoff games like the Bengals did last year. Before the season started I had the Lions winning between 7 to 9 games at most, so they are right where I thought they would be. A mediocre team with the ability to be in every game, but falling short to the really good teams.

Right now they are, but remember Seattle beat the Lions soundly at home. It might come down to the Lions at Green Bay for that final playoff spot, in that case...my heart says Lions, but my head says Packers win. I never count out Aaron Rodgers in the regular season, playoffs are a different story.

It would take more than a packers win - Detroit beat them earlier in the year and are currently one game back so a win would only tie them and neither team would have an advance so it woils come down to common opponent or Detroit dropping of the next two games while thr packers win.

Looks like the Lions shit the bed today against the Panthers. I did not watch the game but the score indicates that it wasn't good if you are a Lions fan.

The Titans have been in a freefall and now Jacksonville leads that division. The Jags are looking good at making the playoffs (the NFL is great for worst to first scenarios).

Wonder if SF will stick with Purdy if Garappolo could be ready for the playoffs?

Panthers will win their division.

It's Purdy's job to lose now, even with Jimmy and Trey back.
