Thank you for the condolence. Just have a question for you. Since you are an American, are these the typical Trump maga-supporting geniuses?

Such dumb cult followers. They cannot comprehend that Trump will be toxic waste under the bridge. The Americans rejected nearly all his hand picks in the mid terms.
The only smart thing about Trump is that he knows that his supporters are some of the most ignorant ones who buy his lies about the "Stolen Elections"!!

Xi hides everything under the carpet. That is what an autocratic Government does to it's people. Trudeau made it clear that he is transparent to the Canadians.
Yet, the right wingers seem to have their feathers all ruffled as it must have upset Xi!! ROTFLMAO!!

Huawei ripped off technology from Nortel through corporate espionage. A few days ago, a Chinese spy was apprehended for stealing tech from a hydro electric company in Canada.
Xi doesn't have the morale authority to lecture us on anything.
But I guess right-wing nuts will right-wing.

Everything you posted is true.
Au contraire mon ami, Tiberius is wallowing in anti-Trudeau hyperbole.

Canada has shipped ordnance and medical supplies to Ukraine. Canadian Special Forces have been on the ground training Ukrainians in various forms of combat. They have also taken part in the safeguarding of Ukraine's nuclear power plants - and unlike the Americans, they haven't gotten caught. Anthony Blinken is misguided if he thinks Canada isn't doing enough, nuclear class submarines are extremely expensive to build. To go on a full scale war stance, Ottawa would need to make deep cuts in social services and transfer payments to the provinces.

As for Big Top Xi, in the words of Nigel Tufnel, he can lick my love pump. Just like Andrew Scheer nearly did to Narendra Modi.

A year doesn't go by without American Marines training with their Canadian counterparts.

Just for the record, I'm not a fan of Trudeau but I don't bash him at every turn like his haters.
But he looked absolutely awful in this exchange, he stood there like a child who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar
and was politely scolded by someone far more powerful and wiser.
Watching him respond with that smirk and phony sanctimonious, disingenuous rhetoric is embarrassing.
He's constantly trying to punch above his weight and it's always for the cameras, everything's a photo Op for this guy.

LMHAO, Big Top Xi is not wise he's a fucking Maoist. He's purged the Deng faction, who built up the economy and what he implemented instead is a dismal failure. Cambodia practiced Maoism in it's "purest" form in the late 70's.

Big Top Pee Wee is an obscure classic that more people should watch.

Thanks anon1, that just proves my point.

That just proves how arrogant and stupid the Maoists are. Instead of asking for Canada's help in dealing with the impending Three Gorges Dam disaster, they try to steal our knowledge instead. The Three Gorges Dam is silting up faster than it can be dredged.

We get it that you do not like China. But worry about Niagara Falls collapsing instead.

You're right in a way, I haven't had lunch at First Markham Place since the contagion began. Most of them are from Hong Kong, I asked them if it was wise to invest in China. I was told that President Xi is like Tony Soprano. He's like King Midas in reverse - everything he touches turns to shit. I had my skpeticism, until I saw what Chinese ownership of the Milano football clubs panned out to be.

Niagara Falls has rock falls regularly, it has been that way since the Ice Age. At that time it used to be closer to Niagara-On-The-Lake. The difference is there are four sewage treatment plants on the Niagara Peninsula, only one on the American side. The Three Gorges Dam gas none upstream, turbines cannot run if the water is polluted.

I'm no big fan of Trudeau either - my take on Canadian politics right now is that you have an anti-Trudeau cult that hates Trudeau and thinks he can do nothing right and a pro-Trudeau hive that loves Trudeau and thinks he can do nothing wrong with neither group being able to rise above it and look at things objectively.

Having said that, I don't agree with your take on the video. I've been amazed at how successfully the "cult" has been able to take this video over and make it sound like Trudeau came off as weak. I don't see that at all. I see Xi and Trudeau having a very tense conversation, neither of them looking weak, things ending with a perfunctory handshake and both of them walking off. To be clear, I do not see Trudeau as a particularly strong leader in general terms, but I personally don't see the weakness in Trudeau in this video.

As for questions about the military, Canada could raise spending to 2% of GDP and it would mean nothing. Militarily we're a small power and because we have a relatively large and strong economy we get to punch above our weight diplomatically on the world stage. But the reality is that there are three great powers in the world today - the USA, Russia and China - and no matter how much we spent on the military we would be helpless against any of them.
I didn't say he looked weak, I thought he looked like an idiot. " In Canada we are open and transparent" FUCK OFF! It's so condescending not just to a foreign leader but to us, because that's bullshit. That's just not how business is done on any level, anywhere.
In all fairness I don't know how I would respond if I got called out like that so...
But I get it we all see things differently, I try to stay above the polarization too, it's the only chance of finding some kind of truth.
I appreciate your efforts in this vein also.

That was a clip taken about a decade ago. And the context there is also important. Does he say he wants to be a dictator? No. What he's saying is that they can quickly pivot to doing things that in a capitalist country like Canada takes a long time, specifically embracing green technology to fight climate change. And, I'm sure some righty on here is going to deny the existence or say this is Trudeau's secret plot to install himself as a tyrant or what not, but, seriously....

And, as we all know, he's not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. He is a pretty good communicator (as in, talking to people in a way that is engaging), but not everything that comes out of his mouth is said in the most reasonable fashion.

Like how the indigenous people have been treated?
100% agree. We have done terrible things to them, and continue to treat them poorly. But, unlike China, we're trying to improve the situation. While some roll their eyes about the Truth and Reconciliation process, it is something that is slowly making things better. Now, we just need to get clean drinking water to all the reserves, among other things.
