Carter Hart is playing fantastic. This is what we (or at least I) expected from him - stealing games for his team.

Apparently, Krakens disappointed with Shane Wright so far but these are still early days.

Ten games in and some things to note:

* Bruins: They started the season in mid-season form. Last year it looked like they were washed up and old. They were down 5-2 to the Pens going into the 3rd and won!
* Kraken: Sitting in 4th place in the conference. We all know it won't last, so Seattle fans should enjoy it for now.
* McDavid: I have watched a couple of Oiler games and this guy is zoned in. Hopefully he avoids injury as it is amazing what he does on the ice.
* Jack Campbell 5 wins, Leafs 4.
* Columbus is last in the division. Wonder how Johnny likes that?
* Devils have been surprisingly good. Could not tell you who plays on that team.
* Shanna-Plan: Was there a time limit on that?

On the highway of life
Chicago is neck-deep in goalie injuries (Mrazec!!), and yesterday they signed a guy who started the season with their ECHL affiliate.

This guy is going to be a star in this league for a very long time.
Diffently agreed, the youngster can play, very skilled full, better than overpaid bums in the Leafs 😆 🤣 😂 . Matthews can't fight has no grit at all

Matthews should be dropping the gloves and fighting more…

Here’s a suggestion for you…the next time you have a thought, just let it go, it’s probably not worth sharing.

Campbell .884 save % GAA of 3.93 9 games 6 wins
Samsonov .921 save % GAA of 2.23 8 games 6 wins

Kraken now 2nd in their Division and winners of their last 5 games
Vegas made the Stanley Cup Finals in their first year of existence.
Don't see why it would be a shocker to see Kraken make the playoffs in their second season.
With Blues losing their last 8 games only Jets, Stars, and Avalanche are likely to make the playoffs from the Central Division.
In the Pacific Canucks, Ducks, Sharks are likely to not make the playoffs so ...

Interesting stats on the goalie comparison. The Leafs seem to be a better team defensively as their goals against are much lower after the same amount of games. Edmonton though is obviously a stronger offensive machine. Defense usually wins out in the long run.

Seattle is surprising, similar to Vegas in their first couple of years. When teams came into the league back in the day, they usually played poorly for a number of years. However in today's world there are many skilled players and much better coaching programs.

What is odd is that established teams take much longer to build a contender than teams new to the league.

New teams generally get the "cast aways" from the other teams as well as the odd gem that teams are dumping due to the salary cap issues, however the established teams probably could have negotiated deals for those same players relatively easy.

My theory for the success of Vegas and Seattle (still early as they were not that great last year) is they get to start anew where there was no established hockey culture and dressing room politics at play. This makes it easier for players to buy into the coaching program and work better as a team. Also, established teams are saddled with bad contracts and sticking too long with what was once promising talent and the pool of hockey players in general is much more skilled and deeper than ever.

Curious to hear your thoughts on this as your knowledge of the game is evident.

Seattle has only 1 regulation loss in their last 10 games and winners of their last 4
3rd place in the Conference. They're on par with the likes of Stars, Jets, and Colorado right now.

Robertson is now the leading goal scorer with 18, ahead of McD and only 1 point behind McD.
15 game point streak to boot.

The Kraken have definitely been on a hot streak after a pretty awful beginning to the season.

Seattle has won their last 7 games. Currently the longest winning streak of any team.
They're now 2 pts off of first place Vegas with 2 games in hand.
Their leading goal scorer is Jared McCann who has 10 goals in 20 games
He was acquired from Toronto in the Expansion Draft.
