bbl, it's a young team, let the rose petal shower continue. Gibby didn't celebrate with the boys, Schneid is right in the middle of it.

I hope Hazel doesn't catch a cold.

If they get moved in the batting line up, they keep there mouth shut and let their play do the talking.
As I said, I didn't hear any public comments where he complained/bitched about being moved down and/or where he said that he wouldn't move over.

I'd like to hear/read those quotes directly from him.

So having the most hits in the majors over the last 2 years is not letting his play do the talking?

Do you still think so? They are 1.5 up on Seattle and 2 up on Tampa. I'm not saying that they will win. Just saying that almost a week later, they are still in the driver's seat after series against Tampa and NY.

As it stands, they are hosting Seattle.
The final 3 games at Baltimore scares me, O's are eliminated from playoff contention. They will try to play spoilers since the 2 teams hate each other, O's have nothing to lose and will be more aggressive on the base paths. Jays could still wind up in 3rd WC
It is imperative Jays win the last 5 games.

Hopefully, Mariners finish ahead of TB, the Rays' pitching is better than Seattle's IMO, now that they have Tyler Glasnow healthy again .

Finishing as 1st wild card is huuuge so every game is vital and a nail biter. I think that the magic numbers are 5 vs. Seattle (out of 11 games combined) and 4 vs. Tampa (out of 10 games combined). I think that the Jays lose the tiebreaker with both teams.

On the surface Seattle seems like the preferred opponent because Tampa plays such sound ball but it seems that the Jays are learning how to play Tampa. Seattle is more of an unknown entity.

Seattle is proof that Vancouver deserves a baseball team. What we didn't see in the celebration clip is Hazel getting a champagne circle jerk, she was drenched!

Vlady was wrong, when he got the walkoff hit against the Yankees, he said Rogers Centre is his house. Incorrect, Rogers Centre is Jays Nona's house, the team has a winning percentage of .600 when she's in the building.

...as for the Baltimore Smelly Birds....

Random thoughts:

Buck Martinez is tough on catchers. Earlier today a Red Sox pitcher was charged with a wild pitch. That set off Buck and he proceeded to tear apart the Red Sox catcher, saying it should have been a passed ball.

There is a hot server/waitress today in the first two rows. Short blonde hair, tight black dress. YUM!!!!

Watching Hazel get soaked was..........inspiring!!!!!!! She's a hottie.

Gotta love live tv........Schneider caught swearing twice on camera in dolby surround sound during his post-game clubhouse address.

If the Jays win 4 more games they will be the 6th best Blue Jay team of all time.

I'm not sure why you keep trying to justify his prima donna attitude with the things like hitting ball well. They're two different topics altogether.

As you not knowing about bitching about the two said topics, I'm not sure what to tell you. It was discussed on all the shows at the time if you read between the lines.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of money Ross Stripling is offered when he becomes a free agent after this season. He's 32 now, having an excellent season in his walk year, but he's never pitched more than 134 innings in a season, (this year, and he likely has no more regular season starts).

He could possibly take the one year qualifying offer, and gamble that he can maintain his current performance. He also might not get a qualifying offer from the Jays - it's somewhere just less than $20 Million. He's certainly a bargain at his 2022 price, ($3.79 Million), but not necessarily at 5+ times that much, except to the Texas Rangers.

I have justified nothing. I have asked for proof of your claims of his said bitching. Not your assumptions of what happened.

What public statements do you have of his "bitching" (about management's decisions) of being moved down to 7th or his refusal to allow Semien to play SS.

If you have no quotes then you are making things up.

The Boston Red Sox have been bleached pink, like the Detroit Red Wings, their dynastic run is over. Fortunately there's no salary cap in baseball, they can spend as much as they like to get better.

He's consistent. Catchers that go down on one knee have more passed balls and fail to block more wild pitches, especially those to catcher's right side

Major League Baseball (luxury tax)
Main article: Major League Baseball luxury tax

Instead of a salary cap, Major League Baseball implements a luxury tax (also called a competitive balance tax), an arrangement in which teams whose total payroll exceeds a certain figure (determined annually) are taxed on the excess amount in order to discourage large market teams from having a substantially higher payroll than the rest of the league. The tax was first instituted in 1997 and is paid to the league, which then puts the money into its industry-growth fund.

A team that goes over the luxury tax threshold for the first time in a five-year period pays a penalty of 22.5% of the amount they were over the threshold, second-time violators pay a 30% penalty, and teams that exceed the limit three or more times pay a 50% penalty from 2013 onwards. There is also an incentive to lower payroll; if in any year a team goes under the threshold, the penalty rate decreases to 17.5%, 25% or 40% (depending on prior record over the previous five years) for the next time the tax is paid.

The threshold for 2018 is $210 million.

The following teams have been subject to luxury tax since 2003:

TeamYears liableTotal tax paid
New York Yankees2003–2017$319.6 M
Los Angeles Dodgers2013–2017$149.7 M
Boston Red Sox2004–2007, 2010–2011, 2015–2016$25.1 M
Detroit Tigers2008, 2016–2017$9.0 M
San Francisco Giants2015–2017$8.8 M
Chicago Cubs2016$2.96 M
Washington Nationals2017$1.45 M
Los Angeles Angels2004$927,059

Jordan Romano - "I just wanna fuck!"
Of course he does, like a good paisan, he's echoing the words of Dave Righetti.

Hazel Mae is a good sport, she knew what awaited her, she didn't balk. I hope she takes more champagne baths this post season. Did you see her laugh when Teoscar punked Vlady.

This video is hot!
