Triple play by the O's to get them out of a jam.

The difference is the hockey net and the tennis lines are tangible things that can be clearly seen and touched without the need for digital creation. Also, they do not vary based on a player's size the way a strike zone does.
It's still miles better than what they have now.

Tough and unexpected way to lose. Let's hope Romano can shake this one off and go back to shutting down games

Shouldn't have used Romano, he threw about 20 pitches the day before. I cringe everytime he takes mound, more often than not he allows base runners, throws too many sliders.

It's a tough crowd.

He's tied for 2nd in all of MLB for saves. (The leader has played in 12 more games.)

Last night was his first career blown save at the Dome.

Of all pitchers with at least 15 saves (he has 34) he has the 6th best ERA in MLB.

He has 5 wins which is tops among pitchers with at least 20 saves.

Keep on cringing. He is near the very top of all closers this year.

He has a great fastball, can get it up to 100mph, he should use it more with change up/occasional slider, word is out on him , sit on the slider.
He's got to be more like Osuna, who could locate the FB with pinpoint accuracy, if he can do that he'll be even more effective and be the top closer in the AL.

unassuming, wash your mouth out with bleach, I don't want Giordano Romano to resemble Osuna in anything.

Romano's record is good and he's the Jays best bet right now, but he is not elite. Not yet anyway. I agree with those who are saying that he is becoming predictable by throwing too many sliders. He thows 2 pitches and both are very good but not exceptional. It could help if he changed his pitch mix and hit location a bit more often.

Max Scherzer has just returned from the IL, and he had a very strict pitch limit count. This is probably the first time in Major League history that a starting pitcher who qualified for the win* was removed while working on a Perfect Game.

*Spring Training doesn't count.

The bullpen blew it tonight and it was the "high leverage" guys. Garcia and Cimber struggled and Romano couldn't hold the lead. It was Romano's 6th blown save of the season.

Has the league figured out how to get to Romano, now?
Not sure if they've figured out Romano. But he seemed not to want to challenge Schwarber with a fastball. I guess because Schwarber smashed that shoulder high fastball on Tuesday night and leads the NL in homers (40).

Romano threw 5 straight breaking balls and shook Moreno off on a couple of pitch calls. If you are going to keep throwing the same pitch to an experienced hitter like Schwarber he will soon be able to to pick up the pitch as soon as it leaves the pitcher's hand. Also, I'm guessing Moreno is too green to challenge the shake off by The Closer and demand a change in the pitch.

Edit: Kirk was still catching for Romano, Moreno came in later in the game. But the same hold true, as while not as green Moreno, Kirk is still young and needs to grow his pitcher management. He let Mitch White lose the game plan on his last start (not the one where he came in for relief).

Schneider said all is good, but Cimber was better in that situation. Kevin Barker's opinion is that Schneider is lying.

Jays have 35 million bucks tied up in front line pitching for next year that's looking pretty bad right now.

Berrious 15 million
Ryu 20 million
Kikuchi 10 millon

Yup - its a shame too - if you are scoring greater than 4 runs per game - there is no reason for losing - the bats are doing the work - its the fucking pitching really.
