I have an idea for that.

Forget a holiday for a dead Queen, the statutory holidays should be Nov 11...
I like kids being in schools on the 11th. Being forced to hear about our soldiers sacrifice is far better than them sleeping in and playing with their xbox.

What a crock. Trudeau gives a paid holiday to well paid civil "servants" who enjoy virtually life time job security (just try to fire one) and superior benefits, including an indexed pension. Nothing too good when it is paid for by the taxpayer!!
You think federal workers aren’t T4 employees who pay taxes as well?

Would I understand if it were a one-time stat holiday? Yes. Should it be annual? No, unless it were merged with Victoria Day. I'm of two minds on this stuff. Everybody wants a paid day off, but I grew up in a province where Remembrance Day is a stat holiday. Very few people spent any time doing anything but sleeping in or going to the US for a long weekend. I don't celebrate Christmas or Easter, but I know that enough people do to justify the time off for everybody. (Even most "Christmas & Easter Christians" I know might go to church on those days, but it's really about the paid time off and the food)

Lots of people here don't know the difference between envy and jealousy. It's not enough to want something that someone else has. They have to get petty and whiny, so instead of trying to improve their own conditions it's the perpetual race to the bottom .

Federal employees received:
Sept. 5th off- Labour Day
Sept. 19th off- Queen Elizabeth’s funeral
Sept. 30th off- National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
Oct. 10th- Thanksgiving Day
4 paid days off in a span of 35 days. Nice work if you can get it.
I think you can add Remembrance Day and Heritage Day to the ''Special People ''list
