Look at the Quebec provincial election …Provincial Liberals' hold on Laval and Montreal slipping fast,
Provincial Conservatives on the rise: polls

Change is coming soon.
I see change is coming to Quebec…hopefully it will spread to the federal level

This is what Quebec premier said Non-Francophone immigration a threat to 'tightly woven' Quebec cohesion: Legault

Non-Francophone immigration is a threat to cohesion in Quebec, incumbent premier François Legault said Sunday.
The leader of the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) party had just delivered a speech to a few hundred supporters at the Le Dauphin hotel in Drummondville.

I know that Francophone Quebecois are very nationalist they are fed up with multiculturalism. ( How do I know that? I I have brother & family member and friends still living there).
Reason they want to protect the French culture.
They dont see Trudeau protecting french culture. Trudeau is more concern with wokism and pronouns and political correctness then the economy.
That why CAQ will win the provincial election. And in the federal election Francophone will abandon the liberal ( Montreal) or stay with the Bloc Québécois ( but I have a feeling they will move toward Conservative because Pierre‘s popularity and not stay with the Bloc ) federal conservative in Quebec will pick up lots of seats just like Mulroney in Quebec.

Prepare for Quebecois to abandon the liberal and the bloc and vote for Pierre Poilierve
PS. I would love to ask this one question to Justin Trudeau.
When will the budget balance itself?
PPS. FYI . You know how I know that Pierre will beat Justin. Just look at the number of leftie post that start to insult new conservative leader by mean spirit calling him pee pee. The leftis voters are afraid of Pierre Poilievre they see him as a valid threat to be becoming the next prime minister of Canada.

1. inflation
2. Every politician has a shelf life. The Justin Trudeau clown show has been running since 2015
3. inflation - two more years of persistent inflation will see the electorates purchasing power decline - they will want change

inflation is political kryptonite for the incumbent
i agree with your analysis........most modern Govts run out of steam after 2 election cycles...including both Cons and Libs....Steven Harper one case in point
so having said that....Canadian society and life in general has devolved to the point that a vile, meanspirited demagogue like Polievre has a legitimate chance of becoming PM...for me its a sad state of affairs..and for the Conservatives and its new leader to portray themselves as spokespeople for the working class is ludicrous, when the history of this Party says otherwise

Bear in mind that classically the Tories and Grits were similar centrist parties with not dissimilar policies and a common vision of Canada. So personality and leadership record / perceived leadership qualities were important and one leader could be exchanged for another depending on likeability.

The same couldn't be said nationally of PeePee and the modern CPeePeeC. The approach to issues and politics appears significantly different.

And play through an election. Justin - or perhaps Freeland - will campaign in a fairly traditional way and PeePee will - as I've predicted - introduce Tamara Lich as a political prisoner. Well, there goes most of your voter base right there. Most folks are going to say "Hell, I'm voting Grit again."

Justin would have been turfed last election if the CPC was perceived as a reasonable option in Central Canada.

We all know how hollow Pee Pee's promises will be. If he is elected all he will do is to give huge tax cuts to the elitists top 10% or so and big Corporations.

If he was really concerned about the welfare of the Canadians, undoubtedly when the border was blockaded by these imbecile FreeDumb convoys he should have have condemned them and worked to get them to disperse rather than keeping on attacking all the Governments be it Federal directly or Provincial indirectly.

The moron wanted to fire the head of the Bank of Canada. Obviously, we are all very fully aware that inflation is a result of the Supply Chain issues, The War in Ukraine, Sky High food prices due to catastrophic Climate Change impacts, the collusion by the Big Oil Corporations to deliberately raise the prices at the fuel pumps and other factors. Every single country has been impacted one way or the other by it. But to pin the blame on the present Government that has done a remarkable job to help slow it down, shows how dishonest Pee Pee's message is to his Trump like Followers!!

His own Campaign itself contradicted his support for Bitcoin Investment for Canadians. This would really be an indirect encouragement for under the counter payments and foreign money laundering!!

See how even his own colleagues in the Parliament are flabbergasted by his "Pissed Off" attitude during question time!!

PP is an elitist, a career politician who owns three homes and has never had a real job.

His wife owns a condo that they rent out. It was hers before they got married.
He co-owns a condo in Calgary through an incorporated company.
He and his wife co-own their principal residence, a house in Nepean.
Polievre has made a mid six figure salary since he was 25 years old. Given that I don't see what he owns as being extravagant.
65% of all MP's own a rental property. I guess they're all elitists by your definition?

Just clarifying that PP is as much of an elitist as anyone he attacks.

I don't disagree with any of that, but political identity tends to be strong.

It also doesn't answer the question unless you think it will be a landslide and the CPC just sweep everywhere.
If the suggestion is that Trudeau loses Quebec he is done for (I agree), then what dynamic do you see happening?
Is it the BQ voters going CPC?
Is it Libs in Quebec going CPC?
Is it Libs in Quebec going NDP?

That's what I was asking.

Yeah, what a fucking idiot who dares to talk about affordability, inflation, housing shortages, etc. A Trump incarnate and a threat to democracy. ROTFLMFAO!!
The question is, what can the Federal Government do about the housing situation? I would think this falls under the Provincial jurisdiction but what do I know? One more thing, inflation, and gas has come down, THANK YOU JUSTIN right, or wait, is it down all across North America, hmmm, please explain, I'm new at this. Affordability, and interest rates are climbing, thank GOD PEE PEE is going to fire the head of the Bank Of Canada and force down interest rates right???? Please enlighten me with facts, I'll be waiting.

He's definitely a baby Trump and able to get the gullible to follow him.
I don't think that's fair at all.
He's much smarter than Trump from what I can see and isn't remotely as corrupt.
He's better at empathy and not just the politics of resentment.

He has some of the same arrows that Trump used in his quiver, it's true, and he may not be able to control that faction of the CPC now that he's let them off the leash some.

But I don't think calling him "a baby Trump" gives him enough credit.

It's Canada. The opportunities for graft are scanty.

He's been under investigation for electoral improprieties. He appears to have amassed a large sum without having a lucrative job. He does not appear smart to me. He supported the kkkonvoy to an even greater degree than some of the other right wing Tories. And if he's so fucking smart, then he knows that the kkkonvoy people were a lumpen of neo fascist lunkheads who were financed by outside interests to wreak havoc in my country.

So that makes him a corrupt, scheming piece of shit.

Thank you for answering this way.
That's a decent argument.
The shift toward CAQ heralds a general shift where identity politics are still important, but independence is less so, and the CPC can thread that needle and the BQ will collapse kind of like they did in 2011.
I'm not convinced of that, but I don't think it's crazy. Pollievre will have to juggle the Western resentment of Quebec and keep it from scaring these new recruits off, though.
Obviously we will probably have a couple of years to see if that shift starts happening.

Two things, though.

1) The Quebec Liberal party doesn't line up well with the National Liberal party, so I don't think you can draw many conclusions about the Federal liberals from their weakness.
2) The CAQ is riding high now, but 2 years can be a lifetime in politics. If the CAQ doesn't do so well after having an overwhelming majority, that vibe that sounds so good for the CPC now could have gone off and hurt the CPC just like CAQ looks like it is helping them right now.

But I think the general thesis is a reasonable one.

I can post 2+2=4 and you'll disagree. You're an ideologue like all lefties. If you paid attention to what Poilievre said, you'd know how he wants to help with the housing shortage...because he actually spelled it out.

Sure, but I think he can sell those promises well.
