I figured someone would have started a thread already.
So I'll start one.
Season opener is just around the corner and what surprises will it bring? There is always a team that surprises us and goes deep in the playoffs. What team will that be this year? Will the Rams repeat?
Let's hear your opinions.

My surprise team will be the Chargers. In the past they've always shot themselves in the foot. They added some quality players in the off season. That division I see Cheifs, Chargers, Raiders and Broncos finishing in that order.

Personally I'm a Dolphins fan. Don't see them making the playoffs. Rookie coach, right now have lots a DB's hurt, Armstead hasn't played a full season yet, O-line as a unit is still shaky.

Most folks are high on the Bills to finally win it all this year, and they have the talent to do it.

I am curious to see how "real" Cincy is vs just being hot at the right time.

Will Lamar Jackson finally show up for the big games?

Some people are predicting the Lions, yes the Lions, could do some damage. I don't see it though.

Not too sure if KC still has it, but they are good. As bazokajoe mentioned the Chargers are the real deal.

And never count out a Brady led team.

I am looking forward to the Panther/Brown game and I hope Baker Mayfield has matured and will stick it to them.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Rams repeat this year.

I'm a Packers fan not sure how this year is going to play out with no Davante Adams and a weakened off line. I personally think that they made a mistake giving Rodgers all that money, he's been a choker in the crunch. Their running game is elite and their defense is sneaky good so that should be enough to get them the division. The Lions will surprise offensively but on the defensive side of the ball they are still porous.
I think that the Bills are primed to win the AFC battling the Chargers in the conference championship. I think the Broncos will underwhelm despite all the off season changes. Raiders could be a surprise team.
In the NFC I think that its between the Bucs, Rams and 49'ers for the title. The Panthers could be a surprise, its all dependent upon Baker.

Top (offensive) breakout players in 2022
Jalen Hurts QB Eagles
D'Andre Swift RB Lions
Brandon Aiyuk WR 49'ers
Rhamondre Stevenson RB Patriots
Kyle Pitts TE Falcons

Not much of a fan of your RB corps. Henry has a lot of mileage and I think Pierce has been overhyped.
Your QB tandem is risky too.
WR/TE corps are very solid as are your DST and K. But why 2 kickers, I think you should bolster your RB depth instead.

Solid advice mate - as for the kickers, a few years back - maybe even a decade ago - I had one kicker, and that kicker got injured early in the season and didn't come back until like maybe 3-4 games left. Long story short I came in second in our pool and lost by 7 points, never have I won our pool, only time I came close and always made me think if the kicker didn't go down I would've won it easy. Since then 2 kickers, but maybe this year will bolster up the RB - lets see. Its been over 20 years that we have been doing this with the same guys and just once I came so close. :ROFLMAO: Fkn kicker.

I think the 49ers' QB Trey Lance has huge potential to shock the NFL this season.

Although I am a Bills fan, it is entirely possible they drop back this year. Their so-called elite defense is a fraud. When your superstar quarterback Josh Allen gives you the lead against Kansas City twice in the last two minutes of a playoff game and you loose, especially when kicking off with 13 seconds to go, it could possibly demoralize you for the year. Their super bowl year was last year. They probably would have beaten Cincy and the Rams would have been a toss-up. My grandmother could have done a better job coaching in the last 13 seconds and she passed away many years ago.

Bills have to get big leads on teams early. I agree that their defense isn't as good as they think it is.

Bill’s are Super Bowl favourites this season.
From tonight’s game this prediction could be reality.
Bill’s dominated tonight’s game. Josh Allen is one special quarterback.

Knew the Bills would win. Was not expecting them to walk into the stadium of the defending Super Bowl champs and hand them their asses. Boom!

He has been given a golden opportunity to break out. Tons of weapons there in SF. The guy who I see being the biggest beneficiary of Lance is WR Brandon Aiyuk. I own shares of both on my 3 fantasy teams.

Josh Allen picked up right where he left off in last year's playoffs. Dominant. His only blemish was the one pick by Hill. The other pick was clearly McKenzie's fault.
Bills D looked VERY good as well. Could it be their year to finally win?
On another note I gotta say Bobby Wagner is a beast of a MLB. Seahawks just released him in the off season and the Rams picked him up. How could you not get at least a draft pick for this guy?

Wagner was a victim of a youth movement and salary cap. Happens to every player sooner or later.
