It's about time for these old news anchors step aside and let the younger, more talented, relevant news readers take their places. They should let a bunch cycle through the role instead of seeing the same face year in, year out. Say switch it up every 3 months or something. It will stop the sense of entitlement many if these broadcasters suffer from.

LaFlamme just feels entitled to keep her high paying part time job.

Sort of along the lines that Bell has already been doing for the last year or so gutting established hosts from CFRB.

Let alone canning the radio news team. 6pm news is now the audio portion of the TV cable new channel.

She was a great anchor, but time (and the Bell H.R. department) waits for no one. Wish her well.

Central Ont. between here & there
This has been in the works for a while. CTV was pissed she owned or had shares in a cannabis business on the side. I believe she got involved after using some for pain management.
I've seen her on TV from when she started at CKCO Kitchener, then CTV Kitchener & finally at CTV hq as the international foreign affairs correspondant & then anchor. Solid reporter who won many awards for good reason at various levels.
She'll end up somewhere if she wants too. Bell & Rogers are known for dropping bombs & firing people, especially if super high paying spots. That's life in the fast paced cut throat media.

He was the first to fall. Day's of the decades long run as a news anchor are over.

You should watch news from France as an example,, they rotate their lead news readers every few days. They have 5 or so people that they rotate through...and most are younger than 50 and 'look good." Not interested in watching some 60 year old read the news nightly. Its time to modernize.

The sets used in Canada are so outdated its not even funny. There too CTV needs to borrow ideas from around the world.

Where exactly do you see entitlement? Other than saying she thought she had more years left in her she did not make a single complaint. Just said her goodbyes really.
