They called me 3 times so far to-day to warn me my S.I.N. has been suspended.

Question: Should I be worried?

Request warning in French...minus the Indian accent. LOL!

I doubt that you even can 'suspend' a S.I.N.

The Government of Canada never calls like that, never. This is a fraudulent call centre trying to get your personal information and they don’t even have your real name or SIN initially. If you do given them your name, then hey will use it next time in the next call as they attempt to gain more information in increments each call.
Sometimes I play along with them and get them to lose their cool and they start to use profanity even.

Scammers are out in full force these days. I get so much more spam and there is just so much noise. I just block all unsolicited calls, text messages and emails and report them, for whatever good that actually does. I also set my phone to block unknown and private numbers, although I realize not everyone can do this due to family needs or business. My simple rule is if I do not know you, you must identify yourself, then I will decide if I am interested in talking to you. I already have someone to clean my ducks .

Never, ever do I engage. If I am in doubt, I log on directly to the company's website (no link clicking or bookmarks) and check my account that way. Every time except once it was a scam attempt. The one time it wasn't, I gave the company crap for doing exactly what we're told NOT to do in a suspected fraud attempt.

I just tell them where I live, pick me up around five and I would like a Caesar salad a T-bone steak and as usual the Crown and Coke. After all the government has your address telephone number social insurance number and everything else should be no problem picking me up. And after that I tell them F'U'and have a good day. And as for duct cleaning goes there the most racist people around I don't have any ducks I have a dog and they still don't clean dogs only duck's and if that's not racist what is

Thanks for the laughs. I knew it was a scam. Just wanted to hear from my fellow Terbites/Terbies.

Maybe I should change my voice mail greeting to:
"You reached the fraud department of the TPS. Please leave your name and contact info and we'll call you ASAP." Hee, hee.

Love the calls from CRA, saying I owe thousands. My brother starts screaming into the phoen, "i just got out of jail, WTF do you mean I owe YOU?, i'm coming straight down there to the ofice downtown......."
They hang up before he finishes the sentence.

I subscribe to call blocking service from my phone service provider. I just put the scam callers on block.
I got calls from "Visa security department. We notice you have suspicious charges on your account". I block them too.
The duct cleaning callers just keep changing their phone numbers, so blocking them is no use. I just hang up on them.
The worst ones are the ones who knock on you door selling driving sealing/paving service. I just close the door and don;t even
speak to them.

If I don't have something going on, I like to play along for as long as I possibly can. The more time they waste with me, the less they spend scamming someones grandparents. I also hope that it takes me off their list of people to call, but that doesn't seem to be working.

I used to think that way too, but they're far too stupid to use logic. They only know blunt force attack. Make as much contact as possible, every day. They're probably told that every 100 contacts = $x and I imagine they have quotas to hit.

Plus I bet they sell the lists and scripts to other suckers who lather, rinse, repeat. Probably why my old junk email account wins 20 Makita drills a day, sometimes several in a 2 minute span! Of course all from different nonsense accounts that either trace to private IP addresses or to know scamming centers.

I once got an email out of the blue from PayPal offering me $5. I called the real PayPal and they confirmed it was legit.

I also hate these "survey" calls. "Good morning sir, we are doing a survey on what beer (or whatever) you like." Then they go on to ask my name, address, income, education level, gender, age, and the one I hate most, my ethnicity.

They claim they need my address so they can send me a coupon/voucher/gift card for 100 cans of my favourite beer.

I simply say I don't drink beer and hang up.

When they tell me my SIN is being suspended, I say: Great, if that is the case, I guess they will not know when I do not file an income tax return and remit the taxes I owe for next year.
Then I ask if the provincial government will suspend the same number as well

Those lines always leaves them flabbergasted.
