So are Apple, Nike, Amazon and Microsoft. Should they lower their prices?
What does that have to do with my post. In any event I did not say that oil companies should reduce prices. I was just stating a fact. You know those pesky things that you and your friends are so afraid of.

Yes I did. There are more than a few outliers, even Pelosi doesn't like it
No one likes it but the Dem caucus with a few exceptions think is is necessary and desirable to give consumers at least some temporary relief during the summer driving season.

The Hill poll says 7/10 Americans support it.

The oil companies are making record profits, raising dividend share buy-backs etc. They have determined that there is little incentive to drill because that would take a lot of cap-x, soften prices and ultimately moderate profits.
Wrong
They are not drilling because Sleepy Joe
  1. cancelled drilling on federal lands
  2. tied the industry up in red tape . - find a potential well site ? - good luck getting the permit for the 50 miles of pipeline required to hook up to a mid-streamer pipe
  3. told them his intention is to put them out of business- why would anyone invest billions to grow after recieving that message?

That is not a criticism the CEO's are doing what they are supposed to do but please this blame it on Joe game is just not factual at all.
very factual

The "doom" that the apologists for the industry refer to, even if it was true, it not going to arrive any time soon and it is far enough down the road that whatever cap-x was employed would be more than recouped.
no investment dollars will be recouped if you can not get the oil to market for lack of a pipeline permit

The bigger players are all employing a multi pronged approach and are investing heavily in green strategies. Just listen to the CEO's of Exxon and other integrated companies etc.
This is just public relations speak
they will be exploring for FF ex-usa / ex-canada / ex-europe

what is % of renewable assets on the balance sheet < 1% maybe ?

And yes regrettably emissions will go up in the short term. That is just the reality of the world and times we live in.
the reality is emissions reduction will cause a massive reduction in standards of living and a massive increase in poverty

take another cold hard objective look at the pseudo science driving the "Co2 is evil " insanity
