Report your income, pay your taxes, stop trying to dodge the system, because in the eyes of the system you are no different, and you will be treated no differently from a taxation perspective than any other citizen.

Nope, I just paid the going rate like everyone else and earned a number of post-secondary degrees over a lifetime of continuous learning. And I clearly understand my rights and obligations as a citizen and willingly comply so that I can continue to take advantage of the available benefits the country provides for all those who do.by any chance are you an accountant ?
I honestly don't know enough about it to give an opinion if it should be free or not, but it definitely is worse than it was that long ago. Everything is more expensive nowadays including tuition, and surviving off the part-time minimum wage jobs student can come by is a lot less feasible

I really hope you're not serious with this reply. Have you actually travelled to see other countries? If not please use google prior to writing things like this. If memory serves me correct Canada is in the top 5 safest contries in the world for 2022. Yes Trudeau is a clown but stating things like this is ludacris.

By providing your citizens with free Universal Health care, and free post secondary education.
Also, by ensuring senior citizens are well taken care so you don't have to worry about shelling out 10,000 a month so they are taken care of.
That way you are not in debt for a good part of you life paying back the gov't bc you are taking care of medical bills, and / or paying for tuition.
There are A LOT of people that mooch, and finesse the shit out of the system; people that are born and raised here all the way to people that are
new immigrants. It's sad those ruin it for those of us that pay taxes for the services we do have.

When I went to college it was almost entirely paid in grants and bursaries, you just need to look and do your research.
Over 86% average in your highschool grades? Grants. First person in your immediate family to attend college? Grants. Indigenous heritage? Bursaries. Low income independent? Bursaries. Have been out of school for 10+ years? Skills Boost Funding.
And so on, the options are plentiful.
We already are since tuition is subsidized by the gov.
Education is a good thing (though I question our society's focus on university being needed for everyone) and I think those that want it should not be put in long-term debt to get it simply because their family isn't loaded.
For the 'back in my day' statements that always come out in these discussions, tuition was low enough that working in the summer and part time during the year would pay for it. No chance with current costs.
As a step toward universal access, I was okay with the previous Liberal government plans at reforming OSAP by allowing grants to low income students and a combination of grants and loans for middle income.
I agree with this opinion on this topic. I am not promoting the guy, he may have his fault but this statement is best suited for the kids I seen leave college after week or 4 months.

I used to work for a German company. I asked they co-op student to explain to me their school system. Trust me they start in grade 1. We DON'T Start at all. By grade 6 to 8 they define which type of high school you will go to and in which field you may end up depending how well you did in grade 6-8. Some US states are like this also.

My son married a Danish girl and he and his family live in Copenhagen. His children now at school age are taught English from grade 1 and so all young Danes speak fluent English which is the business language. They do have free university tuition and apparently choose their own courses to major in. Denmark is known for the high cost of living, however, in the 4 times I have visited there, I have seen very little poverty as wages are generally higher than in Canada. Another difference is the whole country is controlled by a single government which is always a coalition government unlike the USA where you are either left or right and have 50 jurisdictions in government. The worst thing about Denmark is the weather that I refer to as Dark, Damp, Dreary, Drizzly Denmark.
