Trans doctor who helps teens transition says it’s now ‘gone too far’

A transgender psychologist who has helped hundreds of teens transition has warned that it has “gone too far” — and fears many are making life-changing decisions because it’s “trendy” and pushed on social media.

Erica Anderson, 71 — who is transgender herself — told the Los Angeles Times that she is horrified that even 13-year-old kids are now getting hormone treatment without even meeting with psychologists.

“I think it’s gone too far,” said Anderson, who until recently led the US professional society at the forefront of transgender care.

“For a while, we were all happy that society was becoming more accepting and more families than ever were embracing children that were gender variant.

“Now it’s got to the point where there are kids presenting at clinics whose parents say, ‘This just doesn’t make sense,‘” she said.

Anderson is so concerned, in fact, she said she is considering ending her own pioneering work helping teens transition.

“I have these private thoughts: ‘This has gone too far. It’s going to get worse. I don’t want any part of it,’ ” she said.

I have no idea what the long term consequences are but I’m sure they’ve been told.
Told by whom, based on what research over how long? Do you have the same la di da attitude towards the elective plastic surgeries on children? We are here talking about CHILDREN who still believe in magic, Santa and that 10 years is an eternity.

Ah, the imaginary 'plastic surgery on children'.
Its a bit like the imaginary CRT worries.

You should ask your tranny friends if it ever happens, they could probably give you the facts.

I think at 18 the kid can decide. Up til then it's the parents.
However, keep in mind DeSantis is all about theater. He'll pass obviously unconstitutional laws because it's about the theater of governing. The Republicans have run out of ideas so performance art is the coin of the realm. Give DeSantis credit he recognized this earlier than his competitors. However, using the power of government to attack political enemies IS the definition of tyranny. Giving people health care plan options is not tyranny. Just remember if you enjoy his tyranny that eventually you will be slammed by it. Tyranny never dials it back. Thus DeSantis is dangerous.

Yawn, you are no medical expert!!
Neither are you. These kids go threw a very long process of psychological and physical therapy before any decision is made. You have no idea the amount of suffering a person goes threw living like they do. The suicide rate are these people is huge. These people have the right to live their lives as they should and we as a society have an obligation to look after them just like anybody else
