All forms of healthcare are subject to the government regulations and/or oversight. I'm 100% pro choice, but I can see the constitutional argument as well as the social one. In the end, American will end up with a variety of laws, depending on the state. However, abortion, while restricted, will not be outlawed for the precise the same argument you are making.I think you are arguing yourself into a corner here.
If abortion is a health care decision, why should politicians decide on the treatment? Should diabetes treatment and cancer treatment be decided by elected politicians?
If it is not a medical issue, surely it is up to the person to decide.
