Viktor Orban stands up for God, flag and country.
We could use a leader like that.

Is there anyone from Hungary itself? Interesting to find out what they think.

P.S. And no, he would not dare to even try to take Uzhgorod from Ukraine, don't even dream about it.

So you say member states should not have a say in the policy of the EU then? They should just suck it up?
When they voluntarily joined the EU, then at least co-operate with the majority opinions, rather than lash out at them and show their support for currently what is regarded as a pariah state.
Are the EU supposed to be "extreme left" in your opinion? Well yet Hungary is fully benefiting from these so called "Socialist EU". WOW!!

Orban is a racist:

Hungary's Viktor Orban has ended a controversial visit to Boris Johnson by acknowledging he is anti-immigration and standing by an earlier condemnation of Muslim migrants as "invaders".

So we know that the usual extremists love him, as if he stands up to "God and Country"!!

Once upon a time, we in Canada were generous for rightfully accepting refugees from Hungary after they fled from the Hungarian Revolution. We did not discriminate as we accepted those fleeing from several different nations.
Obviously, Orban did not learn from our valued Canadian example!!

No one seems surprised so the exit polls must have confirmed the result. In either case I have not heard of anyone asking for a recount
We were talking about the scenario where someone wins every seat in parliament with just 51% of the vote.
Orban's situation is something else.
No one thinks the results are "false". It's just wildly malapportioned on purpose.
It's like Wisconsin in the US.
The idea is that even if Orban got much less than a majority of the vote, he would have a majority of the seats.
In a "managed democracy" the votes are real, they just can't ever matter.

His party won 54% of the popular vote so its about as legit as it comes and rigging of electoral districts does not really matter that much. If you got 54% of the popular vote in Canada you would have one heck of a massive majority as well, see that 38% already gets you a majority

They are not supporting Russia, they are refusing to condemn it and have no alternative but to source energy from Russia. Hungary is a land locked state. They have limited options. As Orban pointed out, sanctions don't work. In fact pretty much EVERYONE has pointed this out. The Ruble is now within 5% of prewar rate. All the sanctions are doing is causing a massive inflation spike in the west, and will cause thousands or millions of poor people to starve to death.

Where did anyone say that?

And what is it about Orban that you feel makes it important to protect him from criticism (other than him being one of Putin's sycophants).

FYI Russia does not have the same system as we do. They have a Presidential system and Putin has won by as little as 53%. The Duma election is separate and 126 seats are currently in opposition hands with the Communist party the leading opposition.
53%??? LOL..... the dictator Putin fixes the elections, outlaws free speech and media, and imprisons ( or poisons) most of his political rivals.

The majority isn't the issue, the supermajority is.
