I’ll absolutely give you that one.
Honestly, after what Bel-Air said about the LAPD in its last two episodes, I’m surprised they didn’t haul him in. Maybe they are just not fans of the show. But the show made Uncle Phil fully call for defunding the police.

I have been politely trying to stop this debate with you. You keep quoting me, and out of respect I reply. Now that is an apparent issue for you too?!? LOL. Who knew being polite was such a problem.

You said Chris was held accountable. Meaning you feel the slap was a justified action. Nothing about Chris money not helping him not get slapped in the face. No back-peddling now sweetie. Doesn’t work that way. Your meaning of “held accountable” was quite clear.

But as long as you are fine with it, I won’t bother responding to your next quote. That is fine. I will never agree, I have already said that. You are free to disagree. That is fine. I believe you are a clear supporter of what Will did and therefore support the assault. That is what your posts, from your own words, have said to me. So that is what I believe and what I will continue to believe.

So you can have a wonderful day enjoying people assault others and I will continue to denounce it and we can both live with that. I know I can at least. Take care
Wow, how self-righteous are you!

Three times now...three...I've said I don't support it but you keep telling me I do...

Irony is is Pinkett complained a few years ago about not being invited to the Oscar's. Rock said he wanted to be in Rihannas underwear but he also wasn't invited. Rock carved her back then too lol.

Don't bother with the drama queen. The lapd have spoken on their stance on this. They have clearly stated there was no police report filed and can investigate if there ever is one.

in what idiotic world does this happen?
I don’t know many people who get away with assault on video either. I mean look at how many have been arrested after the fact for the Convoy protest. Once it is on video, most police departments act. Again, wealth privilege

Most bar fights...most schoolyard fights...all fights where the victim says "It's OK, I don't want to make a complaint".
Back in my day, if you got into a scrap with someone at a pub, that was the end of it right then and there. No one ever got seriously hurt, and others would always break it up the instant things started to get out of hand. Involving the police was seriously looked down on. Nowadays, the loser is much more likely to go crying to the cops.

Yes, I agree with all that...I give Chris Rock credit for taking his lump and not making a big deal out of it...

That is great for Chris. I didn’t think he would be running to the cop shop. That isn’t him. But the LAPD don’t need Chris. And neither does the Academy in order to do the right thing. This shows a horrible example of privilege in wealth. Will assaulted someone and should pay the same price as everyone else would if they hit someone.
a black man is assaulted in front of millions of people and the lapd do nothing.

Is "wealth privilege" your new phrase? You should give it a rest, wealthy people get charged with crimes all the time.

Yup. Pretty much. It doesn’t matter the reason for the assault. I can understand WANTING to hit someone. Totally get that, but as adults we are taught or should be taught to keep our hands to ourselves. Wanting and actually doing are two very different things.

Will should have been arrested and we will see if in the coming days, there is enough pressure for the LAPD to actually do something.

but this wasn't a bar fight...I would say if it was a scuffle between two people yes, they will probably let it go...but if one party has no intention to fight...automatic assault...there is a difference between assault and a brawl...Like I said, this was settled behind close doors because Rock and Smith have a lot of common friends...I wonder what August's take in all this...

Agree.

There is no "live" television. Like radio, television has a delay so the director (and only the director) can cut the feed at anytime when things like this happen so it doesn't make it on the air. So, maybe the director was caught off guard as he didn't know what Will was going to do, but after the slap why do they have a camera on Will Smith as he shouts profanity, not once but twice. Something doesn't smell right about all of this from a TV production standpoint.

Don't invite Chris Rock, Rick Gervais, and a thousand of other comedians to host the show if you're worried that someone might take offense to a joke.
And to add to this Chris rock made an award winning documentary about womens hair. Sure people can be hypocrites but come on..he made a documentary telling how hair is a sensitive issue with women especially black women and now goes on stage and makes fun of womens hair…….

As a man of color I take offense to you modifying my post. I also find it offensive that you did it because you yourself believe the color of their skin to be irrelevant. How dare you!
It's not like I tried to hide it and I'm entitled to my opinion. But if it makes you feel better, go ahead and be offended. But this was not an act borne out of racism.

Exactly. It was a straight up assault. I’ll stick to my opinion. This has wealth privilege all over it.

I didn’t know he made that. Interesting.
It would be hypocritical of him in that case but I guess since Jada was making monk jokes about it in her RTT, one would think maybe she was ok being compared to a strong woman like GI Jane.

I get her being upset though. Just seems hypocritical on her part as well.
