Exactly! If F1 had any character and integrity, they would issue a statement like:

"Formula 1 will not race or do business in or with countries actively engaged in armed conflict.

The Government of Russia has made it clear that their recent military invasion and occupation of Ukraine is intended as a permanent annexation.

Therefore F1 has taken the decision to remove the 2022 Sochi Race from the Championship schedule. Decisions for the 2023 calendar will be made at the approriate time and will consider the current and future risks.

We stand in support of all of the citizens of Ukraine, of all ethnicities."

On Thursday evening Formula 1, the FIA, and the teams discussed the position of our sport, and the conclusion is, including the view of all relevant stakeholders, that it is impossible to hold the Russian Grand Prix in the current circumstances.
