Glad to hear Liberty/FIA is doing away with the "We race as one" gesture this year. For the TV viewers they will play some video but on track nothing is going to be done

Formula 1 will be less demanding in 2022: goodbye to kneeling and the “We race as one”

Mercedes has confirmed Hamilton will be back for 2022. Was there any doubt? They have good PR people.

Not really. He has unfinished business. If Merc is still the top car, Hamilton will be unstoppable.
Imagine if Merc has the best car and Hamilton is not there...Russel would cruise to his first Title. That would not sit well with Hamilton.

Then there is the boat load of money he gets paid. He will make a ton this year.

Yup, all good points. I like Russel and hope he does well, but I would really like to see a more even field with Sainz, Leclerc, Norris, Checo, Gasly and some of the middle teams getting on or nearer to the podium.

I have no doubt Russel will be told not to challenge Hamilton unless Hamilton is not in contention for points. Russel is the next Bottas until Hamilton leaves Merc.

No one is shocked by the news Masi is out.

If they left him place, F1 would have zero credibility.
Well, without Masi the new season should start fresh without controversy or bitterness carried over from last season.

He made a few bad decisions throughout the year, not just the mess in the last race. Take Silverstone for example. Lewis got what amounted to no penalty for taking Max out. It should also be noted, that the teams all stated in the pre-race meetings, they wanted the race to finish under green if at all possible.

But anyway, this has been discussed to death. Good that he's out so they can have a fresh start.
