Cannot truckers get tested before crossing border? Would that not solve the protest ?

It’s not about that...it shows how fake, flawed, controlling, manipulating and recontextualizing the system is now when the covid variant has mutated so much that the og vaccines and totalitarian mandates are not effective anymore. Now they realize this and are slowly opening shit up, easing restrictions and all this other bullshit despite ICUs and nurses getting sick. Ask yourself why province of Ontario is opening up. Ask yourself why booster is not mandated.

I didn’t support that one either. I can’t get behind protests that purposely block people and hold people hostage.

Hopefully he learned from that and we don’t have to wait forever for this to be resolved.

Personally I don’t think he learned anything but I think he worried more about saving face with the indigenous then he will with the truckers.

Nowhere did I say the vaccine should be mandatory nor did I say a 3rd shot should be the new norm for a vaccine passport.
If you have been following the news you would realize that many provinces are slowly lifting restrictions. These protesters are acting like the child in the playground who took his ball and went home because things didn't go his way.
My version of reality is much more clearer than yours.

Last weekend I made a run early Saturday at 8am from Mississauga to Aurora and back to drop off stuff to my mom who lives in a retirement home there.
Cant actually go in the doorto even hug her, because dickheads who wont get vaccinated are giving tinder to the COVID fire that is Omicron.

On 401 on the way there platoons where a commercial truck with 6-8 cars and pickups behind it would all be honking and flying flags and aping what by then had moved on to Ottawa.

I would put the big trucks and all the followers into the protest area, then erect a strong cordon, where leave and you don't get back in.

Honk outside of allowed hours and have your horn disabled by police with a liberal squirt of spray foam into the horn throat.

Then army goes through every second day and tows away empty vehicles.

See how many want to stay in their vehicles when the fuel runs out and we are in mid February with no heat source at hand.

Hell maybe some carbon monoxide poisonings in trying to stay warm and kill a few protesters and we could stand outside the cordon chanting Darwin, Darwin, Darwin ...

So what is the solution then? Leave them all there to keep businesses closed, borders and people hostage, continue to allow truckers to block food from entering the country. Just leave it like that forever?

Sadly the majority have spoken and Trudeau is in power. Mandates were a political platform of his and the majority of people want it. For the record, I don’t. But He is not bowing to anything. So unless you plan to take him to court over these measure, how do you propose this ends?

You are missing the point of the protest. The fact is that all these restrictions need to be lifted now and not in 6-8 months. Some people can’t afford any more lockdown and restrictions. It’s either destroying business or people through mental health depressions damage to kids etc...and for some people there is no going back and it’s past the point of no return. The ones in charge need to be held accountable for this despite the whole world moving ahead with data to back it up and they keep dragging their heels.

My take is that it is more than just the vaccine. Their grievances also include high fuel prices, the carbon tax, their voices not being heard, etc.

As an amateur student of revolution and civil wars we have to proceed very carefully and not overreact or things can go sideways very quickly.

A lesson from past revolutions is that the police and army might actually join the protesters. Be careful out there.
