Hot Pink List

So, what did I learn from the last week events?

1. Our Prime Minister is no leader, completely uninterested in uniting the country.
2. Our media are bought and paid for and, with very few exceptions, perfectly willing follow the party line.
3. The fervent lefty prayers for violence were not answered.
4. O'Toole is no leader and doesn't belong at the head of the future government.
5. Canada and its people are really, really tired of this bullshit- the Covid-19 AND the dog eats dog attitudes of our political and chattering classes.
6. The social media came into its own last week.
I thought this was going to be a Trump corruption thread. I learned Jc whitehills will never accept the truth and lie and deflect rather than admitting he is wrong

I meant as in "We learned that health care workers lack the time or rights?"
I haven't heard of any healthcare workers not permitted to participate. Now you said leave work to join, well of course not.......... we can't have healthcare workers walk out in the middle of their shift, deserting their patients to join a protest but if they are off and motivated to join, there was nothing to stop them.
Correct indeed. There is nothing to stop them but they don't because they have humanity.

I personally do not think it's wise to impose a vaccine mandate for truckers as they represent fucking zero risk. But to say it violates their freedom... Calm down folks.

Mostly what I learnt was about the media. They play at being unbiased, but their slant is always so evident to those who open their eyes. For instance, they were talking about the "desecration" of the Terry Fox statue, and I thought oh boy, what did the protesters do? Draw a mustache? Throw paint on it? Saw through the head and mount it on a pike above a truck?

Oh....oh, they hung a Canadian flag on it? 🤔 And an easily removable sign? 🤔 No damage whatsoever 🤔

Desecration my ass.

Contrast this to when paint was thrown on a statue of John A MacDonald. Or when another was toppled. The CBC called those people "activists" (instead of hate groups), and never once mentioned the word desecration. At worst, there were mentions of "vandalism", and that was quotes from other people.

I don't completely disagree with you but Terry Fox is a Canadian hero and his statue shouldn't be touched unless you're laying flowers in trubute so you could argue about how severe that was. Dancing on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on the other hand, is nothing short of disgraceful and parking your stupid vehicles on the steps of the war memorial where Corporal Cirillo was killed is disgusting. No media would defend these acts so I don't know how this subject is a media issue in your mind.
McDonald on the other hand had a despicable history of human rights violations and he doesn't deserve any honouring. Having said that, I don't support erasing history shameful though it might be so I don't excuse the toppling of his and other statues. I'm okay with them being taken down but not by people who think they have the right to destroy property that does not belong to them.

Who would defend that? It's disgusting and I am in favour of the guilty party being charged and taking a beating as well.
Me too. This is an illustration what real vandalism looks like.

Nobody answered the pressing question: why was the eternal flame turned off?
As for Terry. I saw pictures of his statue from one of the universities that had a blue scarf put on it on a cold morning. And I've been told that the one in Saskatchewan often "wears" an orange shirt on the Orange Day(whatever that is). The truth is, like in Ottawa, the people who "improved" his monuments have done it with the best of intentions and clearly meant no disrespect.
We may argue about the level of sainthood of Johnny A, but we should never doubt his contribution to the establishment of the greatest country in the world. To destroy it is akin of shitting into your mouth- some people maybe into that, but it doesn't make it any less disgusting.

When you say "lefties" loot and burn, who specifically are you referring to?
The mythical "BLM criminals" who are being utilized as JC's deflection in this particular thread. JC is up to about a dozen deflections a day now, because this Konvoy stuff is difficult stuff to discuss on TERB.

I remember the indigenous railway blockades 2 years ago, supported by the left and that cost our economy billions.
I didn't support that shit. And I'm "the Left", according to you guys.

Let's do a Deflection Count for this thread. I know you rightie guys are a little embarrassed by the Karen Krisis Konvoy and you cope by exhuming long-dead stuff from the distant past. So far, we've got indigenous folks back a few years ago. It's just a matter of time before you guys mention BLM. You've already mentioned Stalin. How about the Paris Commune of 1870? That left a lot of garbage in les Boulevards, so I hear.

Nonsense, there have hardly been any left wing demonstrations in Canada.
My point is that when we do have them, the lefties leave a mess behind.

I am sorry, I do not want to be confrontational, but I cannot remember any left wing demonstrations in Canada.

Please refer us to a left wing demonstration, where people left a mess behind.

Those were indigenous people as they felt that their rights were violated.
And thousands of Canadians that happen to drive trucks don’t have the same right as they felt their rights were violated?
Wow! Just wow!

I haven't seen any posts suggesting truck drivers or anyone else don't have the right to feel any way they want, or even stating they don't have the right to protest.

Occupy Toronto. A blast from the past- no matter. They left a mess too.
That was not their mess!!

But look at this fact about the organizers of this Trucking Protest:

Some trucker convoy organizers have history of white nationalism, racism:

Watch that video at the 1.0 minute mark and the Jacket that the dude is wearing!!

Wow! Just wow!
What about the 70% or so of truckers that agree with the vaccine mandate? Are their rights not being violated by these truckers blocking their passages across the border to deliver the necessities to both sides of the border? Wow, and the right wingers will be complaining if things are being delayed to arrive on the food shelves of the stores!!

Anyway, since when are they not allowed to protest?? Just their ridiculousness at what they are protesting about. No different from someone protesting about his rights not to wear a seat belt, or busy texting on his cellphone and being ticketed while driving!!
