Rodgers looked like he absolutely could give zero fucks about the game last night. His level of effort and emotion couldn't have been any closer to absolute bare minimum. Feel bad for GB fans.

This is a football thread.

What a roller coaster that Tampa/LA game was. LA should have won easy but they made sooo many errors. 4 fumbles, a bad snap, a short field goal attempt from the 47, poor coverage, and on and on.

I lost both games yesterday so I really wanted this one.

As Wolf Blitzer would say:

Go Bills.

As a GB fan it irks me to no end. A Rod lacks the competitive spirit and desire to win at all costs. It cost them in the Tampa game last year's playoffs and it cost them in the game last night.

No sure what game you two were watching, but the difference in this game and to which neither Rodgers, Brady, Mahomes nor Josh Allen also would not be able to overcome was the swarming SF defense and special teams.

Unlike the, "we can't cover nor stop anyone" pinball KC/Buf game, the SF defense dominated and crushed the whole of the GB offense in the second half and their specials teams which Rodgers doesn't play against was the deciding factor in the game.

The GB vs SF was a much better game than the "anyone can do anything they want against our defenses because we cannot stop them, not even a little bit, not even at all" Buf/KC track meet.

Josh Allen never got the ball in OT.

KC won the coin toss, took the ball and that was that.

Crucial mistake was giving Mahomes a whooping and enormous 13 seconds to go 50+ yards with 1 timeout to set up a game tying field goal.

2nd crucial mistake was allowing the kickoff into end zone instead of dribbling or pooch kicking the kickoff into the field of play which would have forced the KC return team to at least at a minimum touch the ball which would eaten up a few seconds.

3rd crucial mistake was suiting up the NYJ, Jax and Hou defenses in Buffalo uniforms.

HaHa.
4th crucial mistake was overplaying the threat of a deep pass with 13 seconds to go.

Not sure what game YOU were watching. Rodgers strolled around nonchalantly with his hands in his pockets, without even a shred of urgency, bordering on complete disinterest. He provided the absolute minimum, with zero extra effort at any time. When things didn't go GB's way, he was absolutely emotionless. Even the commentators were puzzled.

This was nothing more than a Rodgers middle finger to the GB organization. If he could have stayed home on the couch without getting in trouble, no doubt he would have, and it showed in his game play, his attitude, and his on-field demeanor.

That what happens when defenses, on both teams, are MIA throughout the entirety of a game.

It's that feeling of droning inevitability that the outcome of a game is preordained and fated that the last offence to have the ball wins the game.

There is nothing exciting, there is no tension, there are no surprises, there is no challenge when offences have zero obstacles in their way to scoring TDs.

The game was on auto pilot, bereft of challenge.

Mahomes, Allen, Brady were all sitting emotionless on team benches for half their games, the same as Rodgers.

In fact Brady, looked absolutely doomed and defeated throughout most the game, only to be resuscitated by the 4 LA fumbles in the last 30:18 minutes of play.

Allen, also had that condemned man's, million mile stare into doom when the KC offence was on the field and inevitably on it's unimpeded way to score TDs and game tying field goals with 13 seconds left.

It's possible that some of that is just Rodgers' demeanor. He always tries to promote himself as the ultimate cool guy. Never panics. Never gets flustered because he's sooo good he always has things under control. Just speculating.

When the Bills scored with 13 seconds left, it was game over. No way could KC score.

IMO, the Bills made a mistake on the ensuing kickoff. Instead of kicking it into the end zone for a touchback, if they kick it short of the end zone, say approx. the 10 yard line, they force KC to run it and eat up another 3 or 4 seconds. That gives Mahomes even less time to work with. I'm not positive, but wasn't KC out of timeouts?

I agree, a dribbler would have eaten up a few seconds, 2 possibly 3 seconds and it would have been near impossible to get off 2 pass completions and a field goal attempt with about 10 or 11 seconds left.

BTW, KC had one time out, which was used after Kelcies 2 yd catch running through a barren Buffalo pass defence.

Whatever, with neither defence showing up at all to provide any kind of challenge to either offences, the game degenerated into an unchallenging game of flag football.

We can yammer on all we want about the stupid OT rules, but when you can't hold a team pointless with 13 seconds left on the clock, you really don't deserve to win.
In this case the coin toss winner chose to take the ball.

There was a recent CFL game where the coin toss winner chose to defend (maybe the wind influenced their decision).

KC had at least 2 of their timeouts if not all of them. That is more than enough time to get into field goal range.

As you mentioned, they should have not kicked it through the end zone.

Probably the best set of 4 NFL games on one weekend ever.

I would like to see Cincy win it all.

KC had one timeout left but that would have been the correct play. Still its inexcusable that their defense gave up 50 yards in 13 seconds.
