Seems like special treatment. Your right not to be jabbed but stay home. It's an insult to all the regular citizens who have observed the protocols.

Evidently there is now some uncertainty as to the validity of his visa.

Australia had one of the strictest lockdowns in the world. Aussie citizens, without proper qualifications, are not allowed to return home even if they have sick or dying relatives. The people are outraged and are not keeping silent. They are vowing backlash and a possible boycott.

This does not appear to be a fait accompli.

Cool......Hopefully this leads to more in the near future.
Not in Australia and certainly not in countries like Canada where the media and the governments managed to cow their populations into closets to tremble with fear. Our athletes have no problem to travel to China, the land of concentration camps and hostage taking, as long as they're vaccinated. Talk about a crooked moral compass. BTW, the people that are freaking out are the cowards.

Nice to see the federal Australian government jump in where the territory failed. Novax Djokovic does not deserve to play. I seriously doubt he has a legitimate medical condition. When you look at the list, there is no way he could have one of the medical issues and still compete at a world class level. Sadly, the territorial government chose money over protecting the health of fellow competitors and the spectators. Goodbye Novax. Go home.

I think the games start Jan 17, I wonder if he can get one shot and that will let him participate. How much money will he lose if he doesn't participate and if that's worth a jab?

Have you noticed that bit by bit, people of your dangerous and selfish ilk are becoming marginalized.

The unvaxxed are becoming a smaller and smaller minority, are having more restrictions placed on them, are routinely losing court cases and are losing the battle in the court of public opinion as people are sick and tired to their stomachs the way you are dragging this pandemic out and the restrictive measures that you are forcing governments to impose on all of us.

If you covidiots don't start marching in step with the rest of the normal and rational citizens of Earth, it might not be long before some of the radical measures that squeezer keeps talking about will be instituted. Believe me, the longer you resist, the harsher the measures will be.

Grow up and be a mensch. (Not that you know what that means.)

Yes, Cool........ That he is being kicked out of Australia, after being detained for 12 hours at the airport, especially now that his exemption is Fake:
From what I've read, I don't think that it is fake or a forgery. I believe that it is simply inadequate.

From your article:
a federal government source familiar with the episode said there were question marks about whether Djokovic had adequate documentation to prove the reason for his exemption.” What was that reason? Nobody knows.

The Age reports that, on top of the exemption question, Australian Border Force officials had contacted the government of the State of Victoria before Djokovic even landed, since the star was attempting to enter the country on the wrong kind of visa — not one that allows medical exemptions for the unvaccinated.

Regardless, this is another example of what I pointed out to jcanti, that bit by bit, people like him and Djok are becoming more and more marginalized. People are fed up and have pretty much run out of patience. No more playing nice and trying to coddle them. These infantile, petulant children are being taught how adults take care of misbehaving little people. Show them who's boss.

Well they clearly know that the only grounds for exemption is due to medical reasons. It has to be fully certified by a Fully Qualified Medical Practitioner. Now if it did not meet the requirements then it was a fake certificate. There is no in between grounds as the regulations are crystal clear. The exemption "did not pass the standards of proof that were required by the Australian border force," Hunt said. "It's one rule for all under this Australian government."

To me fake means a counterfeit document. The proper document but copied to make it appear to belong to the presenter.

In this case he had documents that were not copies of originals, but not the correct ones.

Anyways, this might be a semantics debate. Bottom line is that what he had didn't do the trick.

Well, that is true. However, apparently he applied for a wrong Visa:

He was reportedly being held at the airport after applying for a visa that does not permit medical exemptions for being unvaccinated for Covid-19, Australian news outlets reported.
But it is strange that it was the wrong type of visa he applied for, especially as his exemption was granted by two independent panels of medical experts:

Australian Open organizers said in a statement on Tuesday that Djokovic's exemption was "granted following a rigorous review process involving two separate independent panels of medical experts."

But then he was always an anti-vaccine advocate:

Novak Djokovic would oppose a compulsory vaccination to return to tennis:
