Another ridiculous example by you. For one thing JT didnt have a taser, and it shouldn't have to be explained to you why dressing up like the kkk would have some very serious implications
You people should check your politics at the door. A few short years ago we had a thread after thread in here trying to excuse poor child named Omar Khader and paint him.a victim that deserved our mercy. Our black faced Prime Minister agreed and made him a millionaire. Bigots' solidarity? Even when Gov. Ralph Northam's KKK attire was showcased- what was the response? Did he resign? Of course not. When you look at injustice or racism through the prism of politics, you're no better than the offenders.

It was The Supreme Court of Canada that ruled in Khadr's favour:

In 2010, the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that the actions of the Canadian federal officials who interrogated Khadr violated Canadian law regarding the treatment of child soldiers, and were complicit in his torture.
Even the Harpo Government were complicit to this and made this person a millionaire:

In 2007, former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, part of the Conservative party, formally apologized to Arar, a Syrian-born Canadian, and provided $10 million to settle his claims.

But when that Rittenhouse dude goes on a killing spree, he suddenly is a hero with the alt right wingers, as to You guys he "won" his case in court!!
How then is that different when Khadr won his case in our own Supreme Court of Canada??

I am sure you would say the same thing if they tasered a Jewish kid
Actually, I would say exactly the same thing. Kids will be kids.

Even if they used it for lynching.

The GOP is a minority and will be for a long time, if not forever.
Which is why so much election fuckery has to happen for them to get back in power.

I'm glad to hear you have limits on 'freedom' after all.
I was worried there for a minute.

Personally, dressing as or re-enacting KKK and praising Hitler are way, way beyond what I think is acceptable.
And fortunately so does Canada, as those would be hate speech, rightfully.

The US is a mess.

It's not any limit to freedom, but it's a long, long way from the freedom to express one's opinion to the freedom to lynch. The messy US seems to understand that; why can't you? Disgusting.

Canada has hate speech laws that limit your freedom of speech.
Trump backing someone who said Hitler did some good, or what Tucker or Hannity say each week wouldn't fly up here.

In the US there are multiple examples of people issuing what look like death threats that wouldn't fly up here.
I'll take the Canadian system.

You think anyone would do this after watching CBC?

What's the point of this conversation, if you don't even understand the function or application of the First Amendment?

I understand the two fundamentally different approaches to free speech and hate speech.
And I know which side of that argument I stand on.

The side that doesn't result in protests like Charlottesville or attempted coup's with white supremacist militia marching amongst the crowd.

Another item that the fake news will try to ignore:

In Philadelphia, the majority of hate crime victims were white people
Christopher Tremoglie - 3h ago
View attachment 175103
In 2018, Joseph Messina walked outside his house and saw a racial slur spray-painted on his South Philadelphia home. "SNITCHIN A** DIE CRACKER" was what the hate-filled message read. He was 12 years old at the time. It’s the kind of horrifying situation that you never forget. It’s also the kind of situation that has come to dominate hate crimes in Philadelphia. Despite little, if any, media coverage, data show Messina was part of the racial group most victimized by hate crimes in Philadelphia: white people.

Last year, while researching the Messina incident, I contacted the Office of Public Affairs of the Philadelphia Police Department to request statistics about the city’s hate crimes. According to its data, white people were more often the victims of hate crimes than any other racial group each year between 2017 and 2020. Interestingly, the report itself was sloppy. The office even sent a revised report two weeks later, allegedly because of a typo. However, this report contained different totals. Even so, in each version, white people were the most victimized group.

In the first report, from March 31, 2021, the Philadelphia Police Department reported that in 2017, 23 hate crime victims were white, 10 were black, two were Asian, two were Latino, and zero were American Indian/Pacific Islander. In 2018, the breakdown was 23 white, 15 black, one Asian, five Latino, and zero American Indian/Pacific Islander. In 2019, it was 17 white, 13 black, three Asian, zero Latino, and zero American Indian/Pacific Islander. And in 2020, it was 20 white, 16 black, seven Asian, one American Indian/Pacific Islander, and zero Latino.

But on April 14, 2021, the department emailed me a new report with a peculiar change in some information. While for 2017, everything remained the same, in 2018, there was a substantial change in the data that was a statistical aberration. In this version, three victims were white, 11 were black, one was Asian, five were Latino, and zero were American Indian/Pacific Islander. In 2019, the figures changed again. During that year, there were now 14 white hate crime victims, 13 who were black, three Asian, zero Latino, and zero American Indian/Pacific Islander. In 2020, the new data revealed that 14 were white, 11 black, six Asian, one American Indian/Pacific Islander, and zero Latino.

Furthermore, consider the city’s demographics. In an attempt to discredit the number of white victims, some might argue that there are more white victims because there are more white people in the country. But, while that holds for the country as a whole, it is not the case in Philadelphia.
According to the census, white people are a minority in the city — 41.4% of the city’s population is black, while 39.3% is white. And while it may be shocking to discover that white people are the majority of hate crime victims in the city, the disparity is even more significant when adjusting for their share of Philadelphia’s population.

But where is the outrage? Do hate crimes suddenly not matter when the victims are white?
Any crime committed against anyone because of their race is unquestionably disgusting and horrific and should not be tolerated. However, the entire truth needs to be told about them. Hate crimes happen against white people, and such incidents are not publicized with the same vigor as when the victim is not white, even though the crime is just as horrific. Liberals, Democrats, and other left-wingers need to stop pretending that they are not.
Racial equality should not be this difficult. Treat everyone with dignity and respect regardless of their race and ensure everyone has equal opportunity. And, stop exploiting hate crimes against nonwhite people for political gain. All hate crimes are wrong and deserve the same amount of scrutiny, regardless of the victim's race.

JC, you've been schooled numerous times that O Khadr had a slam dunk multi million $$ lawsuit against the Feds because Harper let him rot in Gitmo for several years and Justin just made the payoff before Khadr took the case to the Supreme Court. You post "ROFTLMAO" whenever you get told this, bail out of the thread, then pop up in a different thread 3 weeks later and repeat the same garbage. Then the process repeats. You will again post "ROTFLMAO", bail out of this thread and resurface with the same nonsense in a couple of weeks.

You want to have your own silly version of what actually happened that paints the Canadian government as capricious fools, go ahead. But it has nothing to do with what actually happened.
