I probably should stop watching the news because it does feel like March 2020 all over again. Go figure.

80% of people are no longer vaccinated, not any more. Actually, that number is falling every single day. All those vaccinated before end of June can no longer be considered protected by the vaccines.
At least according to that one early study you read, no matter what all the other studies say.

There is no such thing as a vaccine that is 100% effective. All we know is over time, the immunity seems to decrease. Thankfully we're not in a binary world where the only options are either fully protected on zero protection.

BS. The waning efficacy is well established, hence they're pushing boosters. As for the "binary world", anyone who has read my posts on covid knows I support nor advocate no such thing.

Woopydoooooooo! It is still efficative at warding off severe illness. Once ICU's fill up with unvaxxed and we are in a lockdown, I hope you join the rest of us in wanting to ship the unvaxed to a desserted shark infested island.

I went to Metro and Nofrills today, no lineups whatsoever.
I did No Frills today. I almost had an orgasm when I was able to get 4X2 litre bottles of Dr. Browns Diet Black Cherry Cola. I'm using it as a chaser for some frozen Belvedere vodka.

It is not the only choice. Increasing hospital resources and capacities was a choice that our government ignored for 2 years now at least. Although we all know it has been longer then that.

There were and are other choices. Lockdowns is just the easiest and puts the responsibility on civilians instead of where it should go, which is to the government.
Exactly. And we could also focus on health promotion and supporting a healthier lifestyle as opposed to looking at vaccines and lockdowns as the be all end all. Viruses aren’t going anywhere so what are we truly doing?

Do you know why Quebec is shutting down gyms, bars, theaters? You know, the places only the vaccinated can access???? Because, despite of what they tell you, the health authorities know about the failure of the vaccines to arrest the spread. If you can't see this, you should take a swim to your imaginary island- watch out for the sharks!

Keep on dancing around the fact that it is the unvaxxed clogging up hospital resources and if you do no see this, you should buy a ticket to the island. I can give you the blacklisted family and friends pricing.

Lol! Am I the only one who can read? What "clogging "? There are 104 people in the ICUs across Ontario. The vast majority of them old and with multiple other problems. If our front line heros cannot deal with this, we should fire them and hire new heros.

Its actually 166. And that is just covid cases. They do not include the regular cases in the published yotals.

Actually, the TOTAL ICU number is 152(those with verified Covid). 104 is the number of verified covid infections on the ventilators. And the numbers have been pretty steady.

Waning efficacy =/= no efficacy
"80% of people are no longer vaccinated," was what you said earlier.

I was at Freshco today pretty busy for a Monday but no lineups. People stocking up in case they have to isolate and can't go out for essentials. Stocking up on canned goods too.

The 80% is no longer the (valid) number- in response to a post that assumed that 80% have been vaccinated. My point being that the 80% is no longer a true representation of level of protection. In truth, no one knows what that number is right now as the declining efficacy varies among the age and comorbidity groups. It is most likely why Quebec decided on another shutdown.

You don't seem to be taking into account that people are still being vaccinated.

Toronto itself has tripled its' capacity and can now administer 1 million vaccines/day.

Obviously, you cannot read. Re-read my post, please. Notice it says once the ICUs fill up, not that the ICU is filled up. Also, note hospitalizations lag cases. I'm hoping Omicron proves to be a light Covid version but that is yet to be proven.
