I don't think Eddie was saying that at all.

I think his point is that Stripling is not a make it or break it cog in their chances.

But I've read where they have reworked his mechanics and the general consensus is that he was tipping his pitches before and isn't now.

The results have definitely been showing for him. Pete Walker at his best. Just a great pitching coach for your Jays.
I remember a number of people years ago saying that Walker should be fired. Their reasoning? He didn't have a great career as a pitcher. But I agree that I think that he's done a very good job.

I had to read BBL's post a couple of times and maybe I am wrong, but I think that he was saying that unassuming's post was the ridiculous one. He agrees that that Stripling could be an asset and a 60 day loss would hurt somewhat, but it would hardly be the end of the season as unassuming asserted.

I'm sure that BBL will clarify that for us.

I remember reading a quote once that said something like just because someone has the key to unlock your chains doesn't mean they can unlock theirs.

Most times the best coaches were not the best players.

Walker is gold as far as I'm concerned. Your Jays have a solid organization from top to bottom.

best coaches are those who lacked talent and had to learn stuff that stars can do without thought

like the hockey "grinder" who made it through effort and learning basics

look what walker has done to the staff

he is our mvp

Blue Jays chances as described by Paul Simon:

Springer hurt ankle last night , left game (no news on status) , Mr. Hand and Dolis are liabilities, playoffs definitely slip sliding away

Springer update: Xrays show no fracture, he is day to day.

WTF are we doing with Dolis still on this roster. He's a bag of shit. That loss yesterday was unacceptable especially knowing that both Yankees and Red Sox won their games.

In the previous game, the announcers, lead by Brian Kenny were a juvenile joke. Not that these guys tonight (including ex-Jay Dan Plesac) will win any broadcaster awards but they called the game more seriously.

What I really liked were some of those camera angles and low level shots. It felt up close and personal.

What I didn't like was the score as well as when the umps squeezed Manoah. They robbed him of an important out in the 3rd and the Expos subsequently scored 6 in the inning. That was the TSN turning point.

Riley Adams gets revenge on Jays , can't believe we got Mr. Hand , he sucks!

Nice to see Fred McGriff, on the pregame show he looks like he can still play.

Back in '89 , I was at the Rabba store on Queen's Quay near the Sky Dome and lined up at the cashier checkout to pay for an item, the "Crime Dog" was right in front of me, his shoulders were as wide as a barn door.

I wasn't aware but they pointed out on the broadcast that you can choose the audio between primary/ home/ away.
Did not know that. The last time they were on youtube, I had to turn the game off because the commentary was so bad. I did find it quite as bad yesterday, but still wish I had of known that.

I didn't know how to access that option in the Firestick. I tried pushing the menu/options button but it was unresponsive.

Then we won the trade because Adams sucked even more for us. He may have been batting below .100

Still only 4 games out of WC spot as of this morning.

September is when we can make ground and find out what this team is really made of.
We have:

3 games vs A's (home)
4 games vs Yankees (away)
3 games vs Rays (home)
3 games vs Rays (away)
3 games vs Yankees (home)

To be fair with the guy, first time in majors, he just needed more at bats to adjust to big league pitching, he's hitting .304 , OBP is .385 and OPS of .993 with the Nats.

Mr. Hand hasn't really been a shut down reliever.

I think he had somewhat of a track record as a closer. And the Jays were desperate for high leverage bullpen help.

So as it turns out, both guys sucked when with the Jays, but did better with the Nats. How typical.
