The Yorkie could not outrun the coyote. In her situation I
would remove the leash from my dog first to whip the coyote.

The only medium sized dog breed that I think
can fight off a coyote is one I fancy but never
get to adopt, the Bull Terrier.

Don’t turn your back and run.
Stand tall and make noise.
Stupid kid brought it upon herself.
At least she wasn’t hurt.

My wife and her sister visit Pine Hills cemetery, Birchmount and St. C!air to their relatives graves quite often and have seen coyotes there every time they have been there and complained to the cemetery office and were told that nothing could be done because there are many that inhabit a small area outside the grounds. Apparently, lots of people leave food for them.

The coyote also chased an adult male who jumped on top of a car to escape.

SHE IS A FUCKING KID!!!!!!

How in the hell does she know???? She was ignorant of what to do, yes but she was not stupid and she didn‘t bring on anything, she was attacked. The attack had to happen first before she could be ignorant about what to do and ran instead of making noise towards the animal.

Fucking victim blaming a little girl. Hope it made you feel like a big man

I hope you are surrounded by neighbours who get obnoxious yappy little mutts one day.

Mississauga
We have a fair collection of coyotes in my south west end of Mississauga.
Lots of bits of woodlot and creek green space for dens, and lots of green and fields in sports parks, and sprawling office park and industrial parks, as well as interchanges with the qew near where I live to grow lots of voles, mice, and rabbits to feed coyotes.

Lots of sign on corner lamp post on the 'lost cat' that in my mind became coyotes dinner.
Not to mention the folks that put out food for 'wild cats'that feed also directly and indirectly feeds the raccoons, squirrels , and coyotes.

I awake around 6am weekends as well as weekdays, so I hop in the car and go out on a beer can and ewaste scrounge a few times a week.

Its and electric car so really quiet. Most I spotted was 5 in a single morning.

Absolute idiots that feed them.

A wild animal that can hurt or kill humans MUST fear humans.

Wonder how those coyote feeders would feel if a coyote could kill a child.

Too may interactions and not enough fear may mean they need to be culled.

Yes, as in KILLED.

Ponderling is correct, coyotes move into areas with growing populations of small rodents. Being intelligent mammals, if you feed them - like bears, they will become aggressive. The coyotes that goes after dogs and cats may not be a coyote at all. Evolution doesn't take a break, something humans deny.

These critters are taking over - don't leave your pets outdoors.

I’m so glad that’s not a problem here!

My dog for sure would have a wild goose chase everyday with them

I love having a big dog he’s so affectionate but super protective and I always feel safe walking with him. I would never feel protected with a small dog like that lol.
