What is the answer to the GTA coyote infestation?

Not feeding them seems like a typically useless municipal solution.
Trapping and moving them seems like rearranging the deck chairs.

I don’t advocate hunting and killing them but why can’t we trap and sterilize before they are released?
It's going to take for a small child to be killed before the government acts and orders a culling.

Governments are always reactive, and rarely proactive

People living in rural communities have to deal with wild animals all the time - bears, wolves, etc. We live in Canada which has huge wild lands. Despite our best efforts to subdue nature, we should not deceive ourselves that we can control it any more than we can control the wind. Our cities are repleat with excess and waste. It's not surprising that wild animals would seek to adapt to living here. You can cull as many coyotes as you can catch, but ultimately they will return.

There was also a time when most dogs were the same size as coyotes. They used to be able to defend themselves. Now people love small toy dogs. I won't be a hypocrite - I love them too, they're cute. The dog snatched in Liberty Village was such a toy dog (and on leash, BTW). Dogs used to be hardy and humans' partner in survival. Now they've become pampered toys.

So which condition is actually natural?

Sterilzing them fixes the problem in the future. But releasing them, even if far away, only prolongs the problem at the moment. They will just come back or settle in another town or city. Once they have learn how easy city living is, the won't go back to the forest. Eating garbage and snatching defenceless pets is way easier than hunting in the wild. I read somewhere that most predator chases end in failure. But in the city they can eat every day.

I've heard of efforts to control invasive species. For instance, some are advocating marketing the Asian carp in the Great Lakes as a new delicacy to promote the fishing of them. Perhaps Toronto could pioneer grilled coyote poutine as our newest local dish!

I despise almost everything about the SICKO DONALD TRUMP who is considered right wing . But I also DESPISE many things advocated by left wing WOKE SOCIETY also. Any actions to relocate the coyotes by government will be ineffective and extremely costly. I say KILL every single coyote that is seen within municipal boundaries. Survival of the fittest. There are constantly species on the endangered list or animals that are killed for food etc. etc. What makes coyotes special. Lets get rid of the coyotes who are where they do not belong before they kill a child. They are too much of a problem now with people afraid to let their dogs out in their yards or afraid to go walking in the parklands.

As someone who enjoys his walks in the parklands willing to instruct you in the ways of nature. If you kill off the coyotes you're crating a vacuum that nature will fill. The rat population will explode and with them infectious diseases...rats spread plague. All wild canines eat rodents to keep starvation at bay as they look for better sources of protein. . Also another predator will take its placer. Apart from Trump eating dogs and cats it may not even be coyotes that are doing the hunting. It may be coywolves. I've seen owls on the trails, so far, no coyote.

Such lovely kitties!

I have the perfect weapon for it too.
A high-powered pellet gun.
They are perfectly legal, and will kill a coyote after a few dozen shots

They are part of the ecosystem. Problems are the human that feeds them. Maybe we should kill them.
