One aggressive incident by any coyote should mean that his life is terminated as fast as possible. NO IFS, ANDS Or BUTS !!

My first and only encounter with coyote was under the 407 by durham / york line while fly fishing for brookies...2 of them followed me upstream and downstream investigating...it made me nervous the whole time but at least they backed off...I only saw 1 until the 2nd showed up when I was on my way back to the vehicle...now imagine if it's a pack of 'em...

Don’t turn your back and run.
Stand tall and make noise.
Stupid kid brought it upon herself.
At least she wasn’t hurt.
People apparently have tried that and it hasn't deterred the coyote. Why the fuck are city officials refusing to get rid of this menace? Are they waiting for someone's family pet to be killed or for someone to be seriously injured?

What a great dog!

SHE IS A FUCKING KID!!!!!!

How in the hell does she know???? She was ignorant of what to do, yes but she was not stupid and she didn‘t bring on anything, she was attacked. The attack had to happen first before she could be ignorant about what to do and ran instead of making noise towards the animal.

Fucking victim blaming a little girl. Hope it made you feel like a big man
The little girl never stood a chance. Those techniques about facing the Coyote and appearing big and aggressive, are the correct things to do, but they only work for a full grown adult.
Coyotes are opportunity hunters. They attack based on surprise and advantage. Rarely will they attack something when they think that something can put up a good fight.
Adults offer too large of a target if the adult is acting aggressively towards the coyote.
A child just isn't big enough for it to matter what they do. A coyote will always see a child as a possibility, because they are too small to offer enough of a fight.

The only thing that saved that little girl was the little dog. To the coyote, it offered an even easier opportunity than the girl. If she had picked the dog up, or pulled it towards her and ran, it would have shifted the coyotes focus to her, and it likely would have attacked.

It is horrible to say, but the girl sacrificing the dog, be it intentionally or not, likely saved her from attack.

Yes. Good lefties always value the life of wild animals over the life of humans and their pets.
P.S. I grew up in rural Quebec and the men (and women) there would have resolved this problem years ago.

Handsome pup Chloetemptress, just don't put him in the line of fire.

A coyote is one thing a coywolf quite another. If it's in distress it will call to the rest of the pack. Like chimps, wolves can kill anything.

When I was living in New England coyotes were everywhere. I once saw one coming out of a McDonald's parking lot. Guessing it was helping itself to the garage bins lol.
They weren't really a threat to people unless they were in packs. Then again a hungry coyote is capable of anything. Dogs and cats were fair game of course.

This coyote is no longer scared of humans, does not appear to be mostly nocturnal and is aggressive. The animal is either being fed by reckless humans and or has coyote “distemper “. If this is the coyote with the collar on it then it is perhaps being protected from ”higher ups”, but is now a danger to humans and pets and has a good chance of killing a toddler.
If the government does not do something then someone else will kill the animal.

Nothing that 20 or 30 BB gun pellets can't take care of

Coyote killed a little dog in Markham yesterday.
The day is coming soon when one of these coyowolf hybrids attack the ” right ” person‘s dog, cat or kid which will result in a politicians ordering.cull. These animals are incompatible with urban life.

You see them everywhere in Toronto. I see coyote tracks in our yards, all the time. I've seen two in the Centennial Park last week, one was following an old man walking a small dog, but left the pathway when a bicyclist showed up. A little pest control is in order, if the tree huggers allow it.

I've seen a few foxes in the neighborhood recently. And no not the 'good' type of foxes :)
