Is Mariner not getting paid enough?
Good question. I heard something lately very disappointing such a waste of talent. I hope it's not true. Marner needs grow up now!!! Shoot. Shoot. Shoot more playing like a hockey player instead of playing like a kid soft and has no grit. It's hard to watch. I used to be a huge fan of him that I even bought a shirt for it. Very disappointing!

who starts in net monday? 'soup' or fred?
Lol - I believe that just might be a subtle (or not so) jab. Campbell has played well but has never played in a Game 7 in the NHL playoffs.
As for Freddie - well obviously he has - just not with any success with the Leafs.

Monday will be Campbell Soup night - just not sure that it will be mmm mmm good.

A few musings after watching tonight's game;
1. Has the between period intermission shows ever been this bad?
2. Somebody should have told Mathews not to take a vacation in May.
3. Price is a really good goalie.
4. The Leafs are a fairly good regular season team but a really shitty playoff team.
5. Could the Leafs actually lose game 7?
6. Answer to above is yes and we have seen this how many times before but difference was that before they lost to much better teams.
7. Lastly, what a huge difference when the refs put the whistles in their pockets, Marner and Nylander become below average players. But Brad Marchand who is also small becomes 3 times better. But Marner really tries which makes it sadder.
Can't see how you're critisizing Nylander. He created the turnover on the Spezza goal with his forcheck and putting heat on the D. He got his stick on the puck which is why it went to Kerfoot but didn't get an assist. Nylander has been one of the best forwards on both sides. Calling him below average is a huge stretch. Agree with everything else to various degrees. Marchand is also playing with Bergeron/Pastrnak. He's very good but both his linemates are just as good. Better comparison would be Point/Kucherov. If they can do it then Matthews/Marner certainly should be able to as well.

Montreal took out Pittsburgh last year in the playoffs as heavy underdogs. Montreal last year also had a terrible regular season. Losing Tavares and Foligno for a stretch is the equalizer of sorts. Losing Muzzin will swing the pendulum Montreal's way.

Leafs took Boston to 7 games 3 times all as underdogs and Boston being an elite team. Leafs lost to Washington when Mathews/Marner were rookies and Washington were huge favourites. Leafs/Columbus was a pick em series. Both teams had many injuries during the regular season but was fully healthy for the playoffs but once Muzzin got injured the pendulum swung Columbus way. Still it went max games.

Habs win game 7 guaranteed and I will put my money on it.
Last time you gave 2 easy points to Montreal they lost so that may be a good sign for the Leafs

No news on Muzzin injury but without him for game 7 it'll be a huge hole for the Leafs. They'll need to play both Sandin and Dermott as a bottom pair with fractured confidence. Montreal will lean on their top 4 D. Mistakes have bit the Leafs. Marner 2 men down penalty huge gift as was Dermott's turnover in OT.

some sports net guy just published an article and ranked the Marner-Matthews line as the best line so far in the playoffs bacause of expected goals.

analytics use fail.
I am a pro analytics guy but hate when people use them to make bad conclusions.

Its quite a scare but the Leafs will win game 7. The Habs won the last 2 in OT on defence giveaways. They won’t be able to do that 3 times in a row. And they don’t score much.

Even tho i’m a Habs fan next game i’m betting a 4 - 1 win for TO.
Dude you're talking about this team losing to a 42-year-old Zamboni driver! This team will likely blow it 3 times in OT. Habs won games 6 and 7 last night. Monday is just a scripted game. You can bank on the Habs winning.

I have no expectations going into game 7.

I just want to know if our Adorable Premiere will allow any fans into Scotiabank Arena?

The Cutest has gone AWOL.

Fans won't help the Leafs for game 7. There will be Habs fans. This Leafs core has the skill and talent but lacking the hard work, grit, and heart of the 93 and 94 Leafs (Gilmour and Clark).

You seem to be stuck on this Zamboni guy. If anything what that game showed was Leafs don't have a killer instinct. They've had several series clinching games the last few playoffs and each time they've failed so that more than anything else is their biggest hurdle.
Aside from Washington every other series under Matthews/Marner they've had a series clinching game.
This year they've already lost another 2 of them. They had a 3 to 2 lead on Boston one time and lost both subsequent games.

Understandably there are a lot of disappointments, frustration and anger among Leaf fans, but let’s leave the post mortem analysis until it’s actually over, and it ain’t over yet. I still believe we have a better team and better players than the Canadiens.

We have just as good goaltending and the only edge the Habs have in game 7 is momentum. In the playoffs though momentum doesn’t guarantee a win. Just like a team can come back from multi goal deficit to tie only to lose in o/t.

I’m keep my faith for at least one more game. Let’s generate some positive energy :

GO LEAFS GO ......

I like your optimism but it isn't going to happen, there are no signs that this Leafs core can get it done. And even if they do, they don't want another bruising series with the Jets who are ready to pound the Leafs physically. Marner is at home licking his wounds.

I was going to be positive and say the Leafs are 7-1 in game 7 at home but that was a time far before this Leafs core. This will be the first game 7 at home for the Matthews era.

Not sure if this has been said yet, but I think it was wrong for them to allow those 2,500 fans into the arena in Montreal last night. One thing about the 2021 playoffs is that home-ice advantage has practically been nullified, since fans supporting your club is a huge part of that "advantage".

If one club in a playoff series can't let fans into their arena, then the other club shouldn't be allowed to either. Fair is fair, and the NHL should have made a ruling on this.

dude 2000 fans don't make a difference, typical hnic media hyping this shit up. The leafs are at fault for not bodybagging this team in 5 games. The habs are the weaker team, and the leafs are shooting easy glove side shots at price. They are playing like they have money on the game. The leafs better not choke tomorrow night, and that 25 million dollar duo of cheech and chong better show up and dominate.

If we’re up against the Bruins or the Lightning we have no fuckin’ chance, but these are the Canadiens, a team that has just about the same amount of playoffs success as the Leafs with their current cores. The Leafs have proven that they could beat them handily if they don’t choke. The advantage of having gone up 3-1 has allowed the Leafs one final chance to play to their abilities and I’m calling a Leafs win.

Leafs back to back years Kadri gets suspended lose in 7.
This could be back to back years Muzzin gets injured and lose in deciding games.

If, and that's a big if, the Leafs win game 7 would they be considered underdogs vs Jets.
