Canada overtakes the US in vaccinations.
Well done, Trudeau.

Canada is winning the vaccine lottery. Other countries aren't so lucky.
This was interesting:

Canada caught up to the United States this week in terms of the share of the population that has received a first dose. In terms of total doses administered per capita, Canada ranks third in the G20 and seventh among the 37 OECD countries.

Of course the Trudeau haters will still criticize his handling of vaccinations. The only stats they would have accepted is if Canada was number 1 from wire to wire. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Canada
As Pfizer and Moderna and other vaccines were in the early development stages, Trudeau made billions of dollars in investments to them, so it put Canada (as well as the States) at the front of the line.

Or they'll start saying he spent too much.

Really Canada less then 4% have been fully vaccinated

us has approx 38.5% fully vaccinated. That’s two shots

Canada 40 million population

us approx 330 million people many with 2 doses the us has given 1shot to approx 150 million so they have done approx 10 times more people then Canada

us has administered 281,595,351 doses
Canada 20,338,984 doses

So Canada is nowhere near catching the us

Everything good that happens is because of Lemmy, Chuck Norris and Morgan Freeman.

Canada is really doing a great job with administering the daily doses as compared to nearly all the countries around the globe. No wonder that they surpassed the USA with those receiving at least one dose of the vaccine!!

It's a lot easier to catch up when comparable countries have already hit critical mass.

Getting the doses in arms is a Provincial responsibility not Federal so I'm sure Doug and Francois, not to mention Jason apricate your support and praise

But they only get those doses because the feds did a very good job.
Ford still fucked up by not hitting essential workers and priority neighbourhoods until after the peak of the third wave.
Fortunately he fired his personal appointment and put someone with some cred in the job instead.

I think there would be no doses in arms for the provinces to administer if the Feds didn't acquire them and get them distributed. Just sayin'.

Agree and that's the part that got off to an abysmal start putting us well behind the US and UK and smack dab in the middle of the 3rd wave.

Yet they have far higher infection and death rates as compared to Canada. They went through the 3rd wave far earlier than Canada did!!

So, tell me again, when can I get my required second dose? Or do I need to go to the U.S. to get it before the end of the Summer?

We were at a disadvantage to start because we could not manufacture our own but we have been steadily making up ground and have moved way up in the world rankings. Nothing for Canada to be ashamed of.

How many countries that cannot develop and manufacture their own vaccines are doing better than Canada? I have asked before and no one has answered.
