Just to be clear, I don't judge people who modify their bodies on a personal level. I also get the cultural connection, but for me I just prefer a woman without makeup, dyed hair, piercings, implants ink, etc. I don't even like high heels - give me GND type in jeans or shorts and a well-fitting T-shirt with her hair tied back. Of course I do make some accommodations - for example, I'm attracted to a variety of body hair choices, from shaved to jungle. I'm not such an adherent of "natural" that I don't want both of us to be freshly showered (but not heavily scented). I just pine more for the girl on the volleyball team than the cheerleader.
Like I said, subjectively preference is preference and I was in no way attacking you about your subjective preference. What irked me a bit more was AO’s comment which was incredibly judgmental and ignorant, which is what my response was initially directed at. If that helps to clear things up.

Same! Couldn’t have said it better myself. I have no problem with tattoos/ink/piercing. I just tend towards all natural look and feels. Frankly I even find make up to be a hassle from my perspective. Make-up just feels like it gets in the way if that makes any sense?

What's ignorant about having an opinion about ink?

Look, if you want to stick a feather in your ass and cluck like a chicken, go right ahead. But don't sit there and get all butthurt when someone expresses their opinion on it.

There's nothing ignorant about having an opinion. And there's nothing wrong with expressing it. Anyone who calls another person 'ignorant' because they disagree with their opposing opinion is the one who is expressing ignorance.

Let's face it, all this bogus crap about 'milestones in life' or 'I did it for my grandmother' is such bunk. I'm sure the last thing any grandmother would want is her granddaughter covered in cheap ink. They'd be mortified if anything.

It's a trend. Once Justin Beiber and Myley Cyrus made it acceptable, you jumped on the band wagon and got all inked up, just like all of the other trend followers. It's not a form of individuality. It's about being a follower.

If you want to do self harm, cut yourself, put trashy ink on your body, burn yourself, or even chop off an appendage, go right ahead. But don't sit there all surprised when someone speaks the truth about it.

Let’s face this. First of all, I was and am in no way butthurt about your opinion of not liking ink and I responded a cool, calm, civil, and collected manner about my own point of view and why I disagreed with your remark about Lacey “hating herself so much she has to cover her body in trashy ink”. Which I am also doing so now. Secondly, your current response only validates what I had said initially about your remark, as well as your view point. being heavily judgemental. That as well as your current response contradicting itself because I spoke the truth about your point of view and you have made it quite clear that you are in fact both butthurt and surprised that someone called it out.Thirdly, saying that somebody is ignorant about something simply indicates that a person is either not knowledgeable of or does not understand the concept of the subject matter in which they are speaking on. Which your comments outlined in your current response, specifically in your last 3 brief paragraphs, prove to be the case. While also throwing in an obvious distaste and lack of understanding for mental health issues for good measure at the end, like that would somehow reinforce your point in a positive manner. With that same exact final statement being redundant in the sense that cutting, burning, or dismembering yourself would all fall under the umbrella of self-harming. Lastly, to reiterate my point, I have no issue with your subjective opinion on ink. I was and am however responding to your unfounded judgemental attack on Lacey’s character that is formed on a negative point of view and lack of understanding of people who do choose to get inked.

In conclusion, all is good, mate. It’s a mature and civil disagreement, not a dick. Don’t take it so hard :)
