Like I said, subjectively preference is preference and I was in no way attacking you about your subjective preference. What irked me a bit more was AO’s comment which was incredibly judgmental and ignorant, which is what my response was initially directed at. If that helps to clear things up.
What's ignorant about having an opinion about ink?
Look, if you want to stick a feather in your ass and cluck like a chicken, go right ahead. But don't sit there and get all butthurt when someone expresses their opinion on it.
There's nothing ignorant about having an opinion. And there's nothing wrong with expressing it. Anyone who calls another person 'ignorant' because they disagree with their opposing opinion is the one who is expressing ignorance.
Let's face it, all this bogus crap about 'milestones in life' or 'I did it for my grandmother' is such bunk. I'm sure the last thing any grandmother would want is her granddaughter covered in cheap ink. They'd be mortified if anything.
It's a trend. Once Justin Beiber and Myley Cyrus made it acceptable, you jumped on the band wagon and got all inked up, just like all of the other trend followers. It's not a form of individuality. It's about being a follower.
If you want to do self harm, cut yourself, put trashy ink on your body, burn yourself, or even chop off an appendage, go right ahead. But don't sit there all surprised when someone speaks the truth about it.
