I wish a two-state solution that was stable and tension-free could be possible, and I also believe many Israelis would welcome that, but I don't think it is possible given how deep the Palestinian hatred for the Jews is, not just in Israel, but in North America as well. You don't want to be a recognizable Jew anywhere near the pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Toronto, or anywhere else in North America, for that matter.

Holding Israel to a standard that you don't hold any other country to including Canada while making excuses for Palestinians and countries opposed to Israel existing clearly crosses the line.

I agree with a lot of what you say. But not on this. To me its clear that the current Israeli govt is driving the people of gaza out. They are pushing them further and further from territory that they want. And the timing is conspicuous given the controversy their prime minister is under. Its almost as if manufacturing this escalation in conflict was timed to distract the citizens from his utter corruption.

Its a last ditch attempt by the Israeli crowd to try to stop discussion of Israeli war crimes, the occupation and apartheid.

You know, we agree on a couple of points for a couple of different reasons.
Sure, Palestinians have committed multiple crimes and war crimes in the past and present, as Israel continues to do today.

I get what you are saying but this current shooting war in Gaza started when Hamas used fighting in Jerusalem as an excuse to launch unguided rockets at cities. It creates an almost impossible situation for the Israelis. That said, I completely agree that Netanyahu (who was on his way out the door) is happy to use this as an excuse to hold on for longer.

More significantly, the use of the term "genocide" is completely inaccurate and used exclusively to make an emotional appeal instead of a logical argument.
