I know you guys love to navel gaze but the Toronto-Vancouver game is meaningless. It says right here that Toronto will finish 1st and Vancouver finish 5th although a loss by Vancouver might mean they eventually finish 6th (still out of the playoffs).

Toronto 99.99%
Winnipeg 99.96%
Edmonton 99.9%
Montreal 98.6%
Vancouver 1.0%
Calgary 0.6%
Ottawa 0.004%
The issue being discussed is that points gained now are important when it comes to the matchups of the final 4 of the league. Leafs-Vancouver results impacts that equation.

I'd rather look at my navel than those god awful group skank picks you post.

That information is not accurate as of today.
Nowhere in that list does it indicate that the Maple Leafs will finish 1st and/or Vancouver 5th.
Those were playoff probabilities on the day the numbers were posted.
A 'McGill' 'graduate' should understand that.
Is this another example of Dart not being able to rationalize facts

Yes, of course the point totals will change but regardless of what happens tomorrow with Toronto-Vancouver I think Toronto will finish 1st and Vancouver finish 5th or 6th.

And everybody realises that that is meaningless in regard to the North. It's not even worth mentioning let alone discussing.

What is worth discussing is that the Leafs, if they were to make it into the final 4, need to get as many points as possible to get matched up against a team with the fewest points. Playing games against Vancouver are a means to accomplish that.

Please try to keep up.

I would use google but Dart condemns it so does anyone know what the playoff format is for the semi finals.
Which Division plays which Division or is it seeded by regular season points?
The four teams that advance to the Stanley Cup Semifinal (known as the Conference Final in a normal year) will be seeded by their regular season points total, with the No. 1 vs. No. 4 seed and No. 2 vs. No. 3.

As assumed but thanks for the confirmation.

Yes, and it could very well be Toronto vs Montreal and hopefully Chariot and Gallagher will be back before the playoffs starts.

I think the other poster already knew this and is just playing his usual juvenile game.

Boston early in the season had a huge lead first in the Division then at one point was 4th and close to being out. They've won their last 5 games and are now 4 pts from 1st with 2 games in hand. Coincidentally Hall has played 5 games. They're back.

Maybe it means that the remaining players skated like horses. I'd bet that you never considered that.

To bullitt, the phrase sort of means that because of a particular situation "it would be good advice to take certain actions".

Horses, goats, rhinoceroses, some cloven, some not.

Some sort of ungulate, I'm sure.

ok, my mistake, but they did get a good return in reilly. also BIFF i posted a question to you awhile back, guess you didnt see it. i proposed hanging twine[ netting] inside the crossbar by about 6 or 7 inches, to take the rebound out of the shot. seen more than a few shots go in and out and nobody knows if it went in or not. the marchand goal in boston, and there was at least 2 from matthews that in and out in a blink  .

in other words let the twine hang down in behind the crossbar. when canada used to play the russians , it was always there.

Go ahead, propose away.
I'm not on the rules committee (this year).

ok. sorry to waste your time.
No worries, BUCKWHEAT.
Decent query, but not my department.
Were I to take a stab at answering the question, I'd suggest it's a bad visual having the meshing draping down.
My guess would be the NHL considers with all the camera angles available, that's sufficient.
