The issue being discussed is that points gained now are important when it comes to the matchups of the final 4 of the league. Leafs-Vancouver results impacts that equation.

Yes, of course the point totals will change but regardless of what happens tomorrow with Toronto-Vancouver I think Toronto will finish 1st and Vancouver finish 5th or 6th.

And everybody realises that that is meaningless in regard to the North. It's not even worth mentioning let alone discussing.
What is worth discussing is that the Leafs, if they were to make it into the final 4, need to get as many points as possible to get matched up against a team with the fewest points. Playing games against Vancouver are a means to accomplish that.

Boston early in the season had a huge lead first in the Division then at one point was 4th and close to being out. They've won their last 5 games and are now 4 pts from 1st with 2 games in hand. Coincidentally Hall has played 5 games. They're back.

ok, my mistake, but they did get a good return in reilly. also BIFF i posted a question to you awhile back, guess you didnt see it. i proposed hanging twine[ netting] inside the crossbar by about 6 or 7 inches, to take the rebound out of the shot. seen more than a few shots go in and out and nobody knows if it went in or not. the marchand goal in boston, and there was at least 2 from matthews that in and out in a blink

Were I to take a stab at answering the question, I'd suggest it's a bad visual having the meshing draping down.
My guess would be the NHL considers with all the camera angles available, that's sufficient.
