The Republican Party would be more nationally respected if Matt Gaetz goes, and Marjorie, and of course severing ties with Trump and his entourage....if they all left, especially Trump, supporters who left the Republican Party would come back.
But more of the base would leave if the Gaetz and MTG crowd left. At least, that is what most of the GOP politicians believe. (They are probably right.) Long term they might end up in a better place but short term they would lose ground and they don't want to.
Well, I don’t think they’d lose anybody...Gaetz and Marjorie are in pretty safe Red districts, Republicans could nominate a Ham Sandwich and the Sandwich would probably win.
Voters in battleground states look at those clowns and just won’t vote Republican...their presence in the party hurts them both short and long term...I think a lot of GOP politicians hope they leave one way or another.
