Corrupt tax collector in Florida and has like 33 indictments...including sex trafficking...and a mate of Gaetz...which led to Gaetz enjoying the "fruits" of Greenberg's efforts. My hunch is if this came out before Jan 20 DJT would have pardoned Gaetz on the federal charges, but i think both blokes facing state charges too.

Hires his groomsmen to work for him (total about $1.9 million dollars)
Spends almost $400,000 of the state's money on body armor, guns, ammo, and even a drone.
Then he orders his staff to wear guns at the office.
He then spends more taxpayer money (~$70,000) to set up servers to run a private blockchain company out of his office as a side hustly.
He sets the office on fire installing the equipment.

Then the stuff he got arrested for starts.

He has an opponent in the election so he runs a disinformation campaign against him with bots and sock puppets. Greenberg accuses his opponent of being a white supremacist and of rape. This is where the FBI decides to get involved. They trace the IP address of all the sock puppets to his house and while arresting him find three fake IDs in his wallet plus material to make more in his office. Turns out he would pretend to destroy licenses when people had to surrender them to him and turn them into fake IDs.

This is what leads to the sex trafficking charges because they start investigating what else he has been using his office for. Turns out he had been using the state database to get information about girls - including ones who were between 14-17. Not sure if he was using this to find candidates or he would find potential sugar babies and use this to stalk them, get leverage, do background checks, whatever. He was searching on photos and vehicle information apparently. He may have been using the fake IDs to traffic them across state lines and act as their pimp.

That investigation seems to have led to the investigation into Gatez because they know each other and apparently they found transactions of him sending one of Greenberg's girls money.

So by the time it reached Barr that this was now an investigation into a Congressman, it was already at the "Holy fuck this Greenberg guy just keeps getting worse and by the way we found Gaetz on his client list."

Gaetz, who has strongly denied allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl and paid for her travel with him, seemed to attempt to draw Carlson into the controversy during a bizarre Tuesday night interview.
The Florida lawmaker first referenced a previous allegation of sexual misconduct against Carlson, which the Fox News host has denied, saying that he was "not the only person on screen right now who's been falsely accused of a terrible sex act."


Then, and more interestingly, Gaetz suggested Carlson had met a woman involved in the recent controversy related to the sex allegations. Gaetz said that woman was threatened by the FBI to tell people he was involved in a "pay to play scheme."
A person familiar with the DOJ investigation told CNN that the probe is part of a broader probe into trafficking allegations against another Florida politician. Gaetz has not been charged with a crime.
"You and I went to dinner about two years ago," Gaetz told Carlson. "Your wife was there, and I brought a friend of mine, you'll remember her."
Carlson immediately denied knowledge of the dinner.
"I don't remember the woman you are speaking of or the context at all, honestly," Carlson said.
After the interview concluded, Carlson described it as "one of the weirdest" he's "ever conducted."
A representative for Fox did not offer a comment. Gaetz's office also did not respond to a request for comment.
