Does it mean Freddy may be on the trading block ? The games I’ve seen Campbell play he’s as good or better than Freddy. It’s just a small sample size though.
He hasn't proved anything to even be an AHL goalie.

Extremely unlikely.
Campbell has been unable to stay healthy this year.
It's goaltending depth.
One of the Marlies goaltenders is injured (again).
This young Finn will slot in with Woll.

Probably not because the song was from 1971 and they were still juniors.

You're probably thinking of Danny Grant who was already in the NHL.
You're probably right.
Besides, Danny Grant could handle more of a Motown sound.

GMKD only likes soft players.

On that note, check Marlies/Laval highlights from tonight's game, should you have opportunity.

I had to look it up since I couldn't quite remember, the Toronto Toros goalie who sang The Beatles, "I'll follow the Sun", was Gilles Gratton.

There's more savvy in this current Leafs team, it was a longshot risk for Rielly to get a new stick but Marner sprang him. At first I was dubious about drafting Marner, I thought they should have drafted a defenseman, but he's proving me wrong. He's starting to look like the Leafs version of Martin St Louis.

The Beatles were before my time however I did get into no cigarettes, no matches! I like Hall and Oates but the scoring song should be changed.

5 losses in the last 6. Is it time to panic? It's 1-4 now with 5 minutes. (I was not able to watch 'til now 'cause I just met a new SB tonight. DDD's and submissive.)

Well, that was less than ideal.

Look on the bright side, they got a good practice on six attacker play. With the way they’ve been playing, they’ll need that as they’ll be playing behind a lot.

not always sure...
First ever NHL win for the Senators goaltender who was a last second substitute.
Watching the post game interview it’s hard not to really like him.

It's better to be in a slump now than in the playoffs. Leafs have 4 days to reset. Dubas might make a trade during the next 4 days.

Team defence has been in regress since the near prefect Edmonton series. Old habits started to creep back with turn overs. In years past Freddy was able to come up with big games to steal wins in the regular seasons, but I don’t think there’s been any one game this year that we could say he stole the game. Not that he has played badly but in some losses we were clearly “out goaltended“, and we all know how he had played in the playoffs.

With Campbell in net for the few games the team seemed to play much better. When he’s healthy I hope that he‘ll play more games to see if he’s the real deal. He along with Simmonds’ net front presence may be the best additions available without giving up more assets to acquire help in trades.

The way they're playing now a Zamboni driver could play goal for the other team and beat them.

The boys are in a bit of a slump - the goaltender def. hasn't been there like it was - just a matter of time before that turns around.

There seems to be lineups to run out to ledges of tall buildings in the Toronto area this morning.

Book a time slot, no sense getting into a massive line these days when not necessary.

Before one heads to the ledge, consider these numbers:

The Toronto Maple Leafs are 5-5 in their last 10.
Great? Heavens no. A mid-season scuffle, certainly.

From the 2019-'20 season, there was a team(1) that had this run in late February, early March
L 3-5
L 3-7
L 3-4
L 2-5
W 4-3
L 1-2
That team couldn't possibly be a serious contender, could they?

From the 2018-'19 season, there was a team (2) that had this stretch in October
L 1-5
L 4-5
W 5-3
L 3-4
L 2-3
L 2-3
That team couldn't possibly be a serious contender, could they?

Upon further research....
hey, this is interesting, Team 1 is the soon to be Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning
and Team 2 is the soon to be Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues.

Are the Toronto Maple Leafs going to win the Stanley Cup?
Unlikely, but quite possible.
A midseason swoon, scuffle, slump happens to most clubs in the NHL, most sports with long seasons.
Right now, this is much ado about nothing.
