Hold on. Logically speaking though, why would a women in MODERN times and the age of the internet, hire a pimp for defense? Pimping business is done, sorry fellas! Women don't need black or white pimps for security. And maybe only a certain few do, but it's highly unlikely given the law favours them. And for god sake we're in Canada, the Johns aren't that very threatening (rarely)...

Because they don't hire the pimp, it's the other way around. Often they can't refuse the job offering and the pimp charges her up to 100% of the money she's earning. She doesn't have the option to refuse the services he's providing and she have to pay for them.
I've seen black SP who were genuinely afraid of meeting people that were close to her, like a girl I met in Montreal who faced her uncle when she opened the door. Ottawa isn't a big market and it's recent that we have a larger population of black people so, the risk was there at that time and still is today, only a bit less possible.

Pimping doesn't need an agency, even if some pimps have it down to an art equivalent to one.
Not all are but a shitload are handled by pimps. The pimp might not be in the next room but is still in their life. Some girls have pimps and they don't even know, because "they are in love", or she loves him so much she'll do whatever to "help him trough a rough patch". Then she wakes up and realise too late she's in a shitload of trouble and can't find a way out.

From the feedback I've heard - It has 0 to do with the supposed bigger size but unfortunately too many SPs have racked up bad encounters in the past ranging from abuse to theft and well when it always happens to be a certain type of person.. you tend to paint with a broad brush.
