This has been pretty neat. I don't get the hero worship of celebrities. If I want to strike up a conversation I usually ask them what they're reading. Some people have been awesome when I've asked them that, and I've gotten a bunch of good recommendations.
A few stand out:
Steven Page at the AMC at Kennedy Commons (when there was one) back in maybe 2002 when he was still married and in BNL. He's taller than I thought, maybe 6'. I pictured him as being shorter. We talked briefly and he was super nice. Everyone around recognized him but no one else spoke to him. We were both waiting for our partners to get food. Super friendly.
Grant Fuhr was on my flight from Toronto to Calgary and was a total and complete asshole to the air crew. I didn't know who he was but I overhead him telling a stewardess.
I met Gordon Lightfoot at Edwards Gardens in the late 90's. He was a total gentleman, and was very nice.
