At one time, I used to buy all my informal/casual clothes from Saul... he was always light hearted and a delight to deal with... one of a kind...

That makes me sad.

Saul was a good guy and I used to get a kick out of his commercials.

A long life well lived.

I bought a suit from him for my first job interview and got the job. Thanks Saul.

Same boat here. I had just gotten a job working in the financial district and I needed some quality suits to 'fit the part'. Heard him on the fan 590 so I decided what the heck and made the trip from Mississauga to the Danforth to see what he had. From the very first moment I walked into that store I was treated like a king. And since it was my first time there Saul personally took care of me. Told him what I was looking for and what my budget was. They took all my measurements and I must have tried on about 7 or 8 different suits. Settled on 3 suits, 3 shirts, 4 ties and he threw in a belt, cuff links and suspenders. Can't remember how much I spent (it was a few hundred over my $1,000 budget I think) but it didn't matter. For 90 minutes I was given, what likely is to this day, the finest level of customer service I've experienced (not including sex workers of course). No pushy sales tactics. No buy 2 get one free gimmicks. (Moore's anybody?)
I ended up going back 2 or 3 years later to buy another suit for a wedding and Saul remembered me which I thought was pretty cool. Heck if I didn't live in the other end of the city I probably would have gotten all my dress clothes from Korry's. Dude deserved my full business, he was a natural. Great guy. RIP to the 'Duke' we lost a Toronto legend.

And he wrote those commercials as well......

Him and Bob McCowan had a great rapport together.
Back in the day when he had to travel to the FAN590 to record his commercials, he would take a bunch of doughnuts for the people working in the studio. Small things like that can go a long way. RIP Saul.

Smart man too..... he often did his commercials by phone from St. Martens and you just know he was trading a positive mention of the resort for a free vacation.

Saul Korman, Spence Diamond and 1-800-GOTJUNK are proof that radio advertising is way to fucking cheap.

RIP Saul.

I used to live in the area and bought many things there but my last visit was when I went there with my two young daughters and the salesperson and others (FS) dropped many F-bombs in front of myself and daughters. Totally classless people.

I loved the way he used to name drop. Normally, business owners would be discrete about their celebrity clients. Not ol' Saul!!! If someone famous was in his store he would mention them, and what they bought, in his next radio commercial. Loved it!!

Saul wasted a lot of air time mentioning every detail about his life. I honestly never knew he actually had a business.

In that case you were not paying attention, maybe you are not from Toronto, he was very personable but he always talked about his business - Korry's in the heart of Greektown.
