ok now you're really stretching it cause the building is still around selling the same ball team just under a different name.
It's like saying you miss the Air Canada Center.
I heard on the radio last week that they're planning to tear the skydome down and build a new stadium.

I heard on the radio last week that they're planning to tear the skydome down and build a new stadium.
They are more interested in developing condos in area
The new ballpark is secondary

But who knows maybe
Covid has already forced the Raptors to move to Tampa and Jays to move to Buffalo

If we had no sports team here for a few years it could be possible
Because a project of this scale would take years; the earliest version of the Skydome can be traced back to the late 1960s! Ironically it was the CFL who in the end finally got stadium to start building (after the Grey Cup was nearly rained out) which is funny considering how they were treated after the Jays got good.

Actual construction was 1986 to 1989
So a replacement (after all the paperwork is finished) would be longer this time due to increased complexity plus clearing old site

Restaurants count! Join in!
I already mentioned a few, but here are some more that come to mind

Golden Griddle - still around, but not in the city anymore
Salad King used to be in a building called the Empress Hotel on Gould that collapsed a number of years ago. It has since relocated to what used to be a dive bar called Reilly's I think on Yonge.
Dunn's deli on King
Katz's deli on Dufferin
Mexican place called Chi-chi's. There was one near Sherway Gardens in Etobicoke
Rol Sal on Spadina is still around for now, but I think they are closing down soon
Bright Pearl that was right across the street from Rol San. There were multiple Chinese restaurants over the years at that building on Spadina near Kensington Market. Good Luck I think was one of them.

Fran's used to be good, but went downhill the last time I went. The Yonge Street location is only busy because of St Mike's across the street and the theater. A much better option is The Senator at Victoria and Dundas. A higher end option was Superior restaurant on Yonge, which is now a Paramount I think.
The Senator was a great place.

There's also Ed's Warehouse next to the Princess of Wales on King and Captain John's at the foot of Yonge. Walked by those places plenty of times, but never went in. There was also the Organ Grinder next door to the Old Spaghetti Factory on The Esplanade.
Captain John's was strictly a tourist trap. Food was awful. I liked the Old Spaghetti Factory.

The World's Biggest Bookstore , Eaton Centre, Queen's Park and a number of other areas around Toronto were immortalized in this classic 80's movie. There is a slight issue with this clip if you look closely and know the neighborhood around the bookstore.

Coles, the world's biggest book store was also located on 1 Charles Street West. I knew it well because as a young ukrainian boy, I had to take Accordian lessons upstairs at the Mundinger Accordion Academy. LOL

This goes back a long time.in the early 1950's. My mother worked as a waitress in a restaurant on Queen and McCaul Street called the New London Restaurant. The interesting thing was that a store next door was called Storks which sold freshly killed chickens and other poultry. The interesting thing was In the back part of the store where old ladies actually were killing, plucking, and cleaning them. I will never forget that.
