Jenesis... how does it feel to know that you've played yourself out of 9 months of income over fears based on a political fraud?
I haven't played myself out of anything. I stop escorting for many reasons all the time. It is actually something I am known for. I was going to come back in August and had to stop because mainstream work just got too busy and I had to cancel the tour I had planned. This is not a required income to me.

For me, I am fine. But thanks for trying to take joy out of someone's possible loss of income. You are a real stand up guy for that. Do you laugh at the elderly that fall down too?

Sure, but if you're sitting on a crammed bus or streetcar with a few infected people I doubt that difference in minutes will matter much
You may be right and you may be wrong, but you agree that you are not sure (I doubt).

Sure, some situations are more risky than others. An intact umbrella under Niagara Falls isn't going to do much.

But that doesn't mean that in most situations umbrellas will work and in most situations masks will provide protection. They are not useless.

Simply amazing that 11 months into a pandemic we are still needing to explain the very basics to some "Very Stable Genius" people on here. Yes masks help reduce the rate of transmission of the Coronavirus.

It also comes down to how many freedoms you're willing to give up to get the virus under control
If Trudeau started handing out free hazmat suits tomorrow we could probably get the virus down to almost zero in a few weeks, are you willing to wear compulsory hazmat suits to do that??

So you can say and PROVE that the numbers would not be any higher than that if all people didn't wear mask????

Seriously. Do you seriously believe that the numbers would not be any higher than what they are now if no masks were wore?

Yes, masks do work well. Because without them it would 2700 new cases today, or at least way more than 1700.

Your nonsense that "masks don't do shit" etc, refuted & corrected:

The problem with your "theory" is that covidiots were walking around Toronto before masks were made mandatory.
That number most likely has stayed constant.
So if it stayed constant how come new cases exploded after masks were made mandatory??

For the most logical answer see my previous post: https://terb.cc/xenforo/threads/tor...encies-in-toronto-closing.730898/post-6882694
"Face mask mandates slowed the spread of COVID-19 in Canada"

"... This column evaluates the impact of mask mandates on the spread of COVID-19 in Canada, using the different timings that masks were mandated across the 34 health districts of the province of Ontario. Mask mandates are associated with a 25% or larger weekly reduction in new COVID-19 cases in July and August, relative to the absence of mandates.

Can you prove that they would be higher??

Masks tends to give people a false sense of security and makes them think its OK to pack TTC buses like sardines

No one can
Not even the doctors

I posted this MONTHS ago in the anti-mask threads
Common sense observation saw tons of people congregating after cities started implementing mask bylaws
Then mystery how virus spreading

I didn't make the claim. You did.

You made the claim that mask don't work because we have 1700 new cases today, essentially claiming that the number would not be any higher if there was no mask mandate. Can you prove your claim?

Of course you can't. You know you can't. But you just want to make the claim anyway even with no proof. That is fine, but at least own it. I will often post that I have an opinion I may be completely ignorant about. You can as well. It won't damage your ego, I promise.

I never said I could prove it, its just my opinion

This is a stupid comment, even by your standards. We're still entitled to have opinions, arent we??

You made it a claim, not an opinion. There is a difference. But changing it now works for your battle so carry on.

Masks work. Yet of all people who become infected, 80% are mask wearers, and 50% of deaths are inside long term care facilities.

Masks work, so does staying young, outside long term care facilities and being generally healthy without underlying conditions.

Yet .........

And for a valid comparison, how many cases have we had in areas where no masks were worn?

Exactly. We do not know of any such areas so we have no valid comparison. If we had the same rate of infection in no mask areas and the same in areas where masks are being worn you would be 100% correct. Until then, you cannot make a claim that masks are useless. In all honesty, without that same type of valid experimental baseline, mask proponents can also not make claims with 100% certainty.

But logic/common sense dictates that if there is a barrier, such as surgical masks, that barrier will block some of the virus and should decrease the number of infections.

As well, you repeatedly condemned Tam for not recommending masks right away and that she waited a month implying that it would have made a difference. If you feel that masks are useless what difference would it make? Why would you keep harping on that?

So, even if you will never be a mask proponent, you cannot validly say as a blanket statement that "masks do not work" or "masks are useless" as there are no studies that prove that. It is your own opinion based on anecdotal personal observations. To repeat, there has to be a study showing two groups of people exposed to the same environment for the same period of time, one with masks and one without masks.

In the meantime, I will follow what the scientists and common sense tells me. Common sense/intuition says that a barrier will provide protection even if not 100%. Trying to say that because numbers are on the rise, it proves that masks are useless, totally discounts other factors such as people's behaviour such as gatherings and parties both of which seem to be on the rise. All factors are in play, not just masks.
